I abandoned my #couchto5k W9R2 run !!!! ๐ My pace was far too fast and was gonna be sick. ๐โน๏ธ
Pace was 5โ53โ.. no wonder.. and I put a guided audio Nike Run Club guided audio 30min run instead of my usual @jowhiley #couchto5k app. What a ******.
So annoyed with myself. Will just have to redo W9R2 later tonight once I've rested and fuelled some more.
I kept telling myself to slow down and saying โdonโt stop keep goingโ but the nausea feelings kicked it.
Iโm sure Iโm not the first or last to bail one of the 27 runs on this programme. Just expected if ever to happen earlier not the penultimate one!!
Please tell me youโve had this too ???

You're so right. Will do W9R2 officially on Tuesday. Annoyingly I so feel all warmed up and buzzing now. But need to be sensible. You are right. Thank you for your advice. It's very much appreciated.
Don't rush it Chris you're doing brilliantly. Don't risk injury now. A day or two rest then you'll crush it ( slow and steady of course ๐) Then it's just your final graduation run!
5.53 pace is too fast for a new runner, the next time you run week 9 run 2 you will know to pace yourself throughout the run, it would have been worse if you had to abandon your graduation๐ run, that has happened to some people. Good luck with runs 2 and 3๐ of week 9. ๐
Don't worry! Ive had to abandon runs too (although never cos I'm too fast !! ๐ข๐ข๐ข) Just take it steady and listen to Jo. If you've ran today I wouldn't go back out later. You'll soon be on the graduation podium
Thatโs some good pace to have... as you get stronger and the endurance builds more youโll be running 5k at it. Youโve learned from today, itโs made you stronger, itโs made you fitter, and youโll get it next time.
Thereโs several different guided runs at 30 minutes... the one with coach Bennett (just a run) is good as he keeps reminding you to slow down.
Take a rest, donโt feel down, you have done what you did a few weeks ago! Enjoy beating it next time out.
Chris, don't bit yourself over it. Remember the wise words of one of our forum members: FAIL is only an acronym for First Attempt In Learning
So call it a day, have a rest. Be happy that you went out and do your best. Be proud that you have gone so far. Rest, and the day after tomorrow go and smash that run
Please have a rest and don't do 2 runs in one day or in consecutive days. Take care of yourself!
Don't beat yourself up. We all have good and bad runs.
Pace comes with time we have all gone off too fast. A lady in my club is constantly saying to me don't go off too fast Missus as she sometimes passes me because I have to have a little walk.
How long did you eat before your run? sometimes that makes you feel sick, there is no magic amont of time before just have to experiment
That was fast. It would have killed me! I really have to watch my pace. I always start too fast. I can run a fast 4k. But then I can't get to 5. So I make myself go slow! I'm nowhere near as fast as you, a real snail but snail works for me!๐๐๐
Everyone has their own pace and I'm by no means fast. I'm not looking at getting to 5k in 30mins. Got close the other day but I'm in no rush to kill myself achieving it. It will come in time once the body aadjusts and the muscles get stronger
