Completed this run at 6am this morning and it was a lot tougher than normal. I wanted to increase my pace but I got a dreaded stitch just before halfway through so I slowed it right down to ensure I finished. I'd only had 3 hours sleep the night before so I knew this would be a tough one. Roll on week 9 ๐ PS what's the best app to use to track my run? Strava only seems to catch part of it...i don't know what I'm doing wrong. Thank you

Well done to you MDaw35 for completing W8R3 in the dark at the time of 5.32 to 6am, not long now until you graduate, I find Mapmyrun very good on timeing, tracking and paceing my runs, unlike Strava which you say only tracks some of your run, Mapmyrun tracks all of my run.
Great job on little sleep... enjoy that victory lap on the way to the podium
If your GPS let you down, all tracking apps would be the same, personally I use Nike Run Club, but tracking and sharing isnโt my primary concern.
You might not be doing anything wrong. If there's no GPS signal for part of the route then Strava (or any other software) has to guess. I think my Fitbit picks up signals that are too weak for Strava (correction - that are too weak for my phone's GPS system, which Strava relies on) but I haven't checked that in a systematic way.
Strava can also be too clever for its own good sometimes - is it perhaps autopausing when you don't want it to? You can sometimes improve that by changing the settings.
Well done! W8R3 for me this morning I use Strava and Runkeeper and C25k at the same time!
Good luck with Week9! ๐ธ
See you at the virtual finish line next week ๐๐๐
This affects GPS ๐ก accuracy but that doesn't bother me. Some record is better than no record.
Runkeeper allows you to make run programmes such as splits and add 5 minutes of warm up and warm down walking.
I share Strava but not Runkeeper.
Thank you I'll try this next week ๐
Excellet!
With regards to getting a stitch during your run, there are 2 theories on this: one is hydrate! Make sure you have taken on water before running... and the other is don't eat about 2 hours before running.
I always remember getting a stitch when doing cross country at school which was after midday dinner! So the eating theory makes sense to me. ๐ธ
Well done. I use Nike rum club. ๐
