Got home from work earlier than usual though still dark. Donned my running gear and joined the hordes of excited sugar filled children! I managed it ok though a little wary as dark and I felt a little vulnerable on my own. I stuck to the main road but if I want to continue only one run a week will be in the morning as I leave for work early in the morning and get home quite late at night.
Any tips? My music is very low so I am aware of people around me. I am vigilant and now I am only running next to main roads ( not ideal). The earliest I can get home is 5.30 but more often it will be 6 not the 7 I usually get home.
Advice, tips greatly received. My friends are impressed but secretly think I am mad so they will not be joining me!

You are doing great. Honestly you will grow in confidence the more you run. You really are doing well. It’s great that you are vigilant however if you genuinely don’t feel safe in your area maybe consider joining a gym and running there? Alternatively maybe during your lunch hour at work?
I actually never get more than 30 Min because of my job and I travel to get there. I have set hours so can't change that either. But thank you for the suggestion
I now a proud member of my local gym, with it cold/bad weather or even those short witches and zombies can’t catch me. It also allows the flexibility of swimming alternate days. Can’t tell you how happy I was to get off the streets and run indoors.
I enjoy the running on your own clearing your head and my area is safe I just feel a little vulnerable. I will see how the next couple go and look at gyms if needed. Thank you
