Once again thank you for all of your encouragement, it really has helped.

My daughter (student nursee) came to stay and she did my run with me. Encouraging me all of the way

She is now running up to 5k so I got on my bike and cycled with her for her run. It was bitterly cold and drizzling.

So it was double exercise for me, a great sense of achievement for finishing Wk1.

When I cycled along side my daughter I did think, I will never be able to do that.

But I tell you what, I am going to give it a good try even if I have to repeat some weeks.

Fantastic well done to you! How lovely to share this journey with your daughter too! I keep trying to get my teens to run with me but....NO! You will get there and be able to run 5km too.

Go for it Karenshann, as a cyclist for the last 64 years and only a runner for less than a year I know the difference between the two, running is more intensive for a much shorter period of time, but nevertheless I do enjoy my new experience and exercise of running. Good luck to you for the next 9 weeks of C25K, you can repeat any week you wish.

I said the same at 60 Kareshann and I reached my first 10k last week. Enjoy the change both mentally and physically.

Well done! Great start and lovely to have your daughter with you. Running and cycling go well together as the muscle usage is different, cross training on non-running days already sorted 👍.

Lots of information in the post below.
