Just back from what I was dreading and having done it I feel great. Weather was interesting )!) hail stones and storm force gusts of wind.
On a side issue. I am not a lover of music. I rarely if ever listen to any (I have a bit of a hearing problem) but I do listen a lot to talking books. So I decided to try an experiment on today’s run. The first 8 min section I did nothing as usual and spent the time thinking of all the pains, the weather etc etc. A major mental challenge thinking through ever single second of 8 minutes! Then I turned on the talking book and the second 8 minutes flew by - and I enjoyed the run. Perhaps I will try done music next time - although the book is great
And I am even looking forward (!!!!!!) to W5R3 for Monday

Wow, that weather sounds quite “interesting”, you are a daring guy!!! Were you wearing a helmet ⛑?!? W5 is an amazing one, you will love W5R3, you’ll see, just keep it slow and steady and it will be great!
Great job. I think distracting yourself from the running is good, that’s the benefit of having something in our ears... I don’t know if music will work for you, as you don’t listen to music usually, but it might do... I’d have an audiobook ready to take over if you hate the music run. I tend to run to spoken word now, sometimes a podcast, sometimes a coach, depends on the run, and I rarely put music on despite me being the guy who listens to music 8 hours a day.
