Rested my knee for a few days last week as l hurt it at at work and l was in pain after my second run of week 5, but it started hurting not long after my first run l took it really easy but it’s not looking good for the rest of the week. I think l will leave it a couple of weeks and start again. Really feeling disappointed.

Maybe you need to get it checked out? Hopefully you’ll be back soon.

I simply don’t mess with knees. Easy to bust, exposed to battering, need looking after. If you do look after them they will look after your running, to put it simply. Google the best physio/osteopath in your area. The best money you will invest.

Maybe try RICE for now, it may just go away in time, if it doesn't go away with home remedy then see the doctor, physio's cost, that comes later if nessacary..

They do cost, but regarding knees and sport I would have more faith in them than a doctor.

I'm glad it worked for your wife, we all have different experiences, which is why this is such a great forum for sharing them.

My experience after 37 years in the NHS would send me to a specialist rather than a generalist, but that is just my preference.

Rest is definitely the best idea, you’ll be back before you know it. Don’t rush back into it, you should be ok for a couple of weeks apparently before it makes any difference to your condition.

I tried C25K 2 years ago and stopped after I started getting problems with my knees. Read the best thing to strengthen and protect them is targeted exercises. Have been doing exercises-7 min utube from none to run for a few weeks now on week 6 of repeat C25K and so far so good. Best to get diagnosed first then start your squats etc, Good luck
