W5 R3 tomorrow how did I ever get here ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Little apprehensive about this run but Iโ€™ve not been beaten yet and that keeps me thinking positively. Iโ€™m just wondering why so many people tell me running is bad ? I have a bad knee and wear a support but in all honesty my knee has improved over the weeks and I can now walk/run uphill with minimal pain but when I started hills were an absolute no go !

How can running be bad when it makes me feel physically and mentally so much better ?

I was so nervous about it and the first 5-8 minutes I kept thinking I wouldnโ€™t be able to do it but then I got distracted by my podcast and next thing I knew Sarah was telling me Iโ€™d only got 5 minutes left. You can smash it! Xxx

The people who say running is bad are, in the main, non runners. Running impacts the joints and thatโ€™s all theyโ€™ve read... but the impacts can be reduced and then they build the knees stronger.

Great job so far... keep the pace down and youโ€™ll be just fine for that 20

You will do it.

The people who tell you that running is bad for you are very, very rarely runners themselves and to be frank are talking in ignorance.

I avoided running for years because of dodgy knees..........over five years later, they are stronger than ever.

Just don't expect to run a dozen marathons each year without some physical degradation.

Keep running, keep smiling

Thanks ๐Ÿ˜Š Itโ€™s certainly making me smile more and my knee is the best itโ€™s been in years ! Can I ask do you think the intervals are harder or easier than one long run ?

It is individual, but I always hated (still do) brisk walking.

I found yesterday the walking part was giving me too much time to think about starting running again I just wanted to get it done ! I guess I will know tomorrow ๐Ÿ˜Š
