Wow next time I introduce a week... it’s graduation week!!!!
Anyway back to today’s..... the start was a real struggle. I was supposed to have ran yesterday but didn’t - was tired beyond belief to even function let alone run - so I’m wondering if it’s this and I need a decent rest, or maybe it was just a tough start 🤷♀️ who knows?!? Even once I settled into the run I just felt so sluggish.
It wasn’t bothering me that much as I know the speed isn’t an issue-just get to the end!!!!! However once I checked my Fitbit later it was the fastest (by a margin) I’ve ran apparently! So after analysing my runs, I have a question - do I include warm up and cool downs???
28 mins wasn’t too bad, it didn’t feel any longer and I felt amazing afterwards! Went to the outdoor gym for a bit too and had energy all day and in a good mood so it was definitely a good run!!
🤞I get a decent sleep and rest tonight!!!! Then smash run 2 😃

Amazing - Well done to starting week 8 on a high. I include my warm up and cool down walks in my run times at the moment but once I finish I will try to run for 30 mins and see how far I go.
Hi Marcia - I hear it is good practice to not record from your front door so I tend to start after warmup walk and stop after the run before warm down.
I record my RUNNING time, not the warm up or post walk at the end of my run, for example yesterday I ran my first full 5k, I recorded my running time not the 10 minutes it took me to start from my front door or the 25 minute walk back home.
Fantastic Marcia! 👏👏 Sometimes runs deceive us, they feel like hard work, but the time pleasantly surprises us (my 4k one was like that on Thursday!).
Personally I start MMR after my warmup and before my cool down, so just record the run itself. Not sure if it matters as long as you’re consistent I suppose. I’m not, as my dog gets a run off the lead before and after! ❤️🐕
Happy running and good luck with your smashing of R2! 😀😀🏃♀️🏃♀️
Yes they do! I felt like it was going to be difficult the whole way through (which it was to an extent) but it was doable and I felt great after!
I’m going to change and start recording just the run-makes sense to compare 30 min runs in week 9 to improve my pace after graduation! (I feel like I have a plan now!)
Really want to take my dog too but think I’ll wait until I’ve graduated as we will stop at every tree!!! Don’t want him messing with my programme!!!!
Great job. If you’re tired and feel sluggish then nail your distance PB it’ll be interesting to see what you can do all fresh! I only log my run... I just start on the tracking app as I’m three seconds from the end of warm up.
Thanks! I’m going to change and just track the run-as you said I can then look at gaining distance and compare it that way, which is what I’d prefer to do. Then I can work on pace after graduating!
Yes and no! The weight hasn't exactly dropped off but I feel slimmer-a bit! The biggest improvement is I feel fitter. It is encouraging me to do more!!!
Yes definitely!!! I was really getting into fitness but then put weight on in pregnancy - and now no longer a member of the gym. That's when I decided to do C25K. It's definitely gave me my mojo back-would love to be back at the gym but for now I'm really enjoying the running!
