Week 7 done

Can't believe I'm on to week 8 now. So by end of next week I should be running for 30mins. Ooh. I started this to loose weight and look fitter for our 1st family holiday. So week 1 I started and I was just over 17.5 stone. Now I'm 15.9stone. I know not all down to running as I've changed may diet and go to PT, but running has really helped and I love getting out. Some weeks I wish I could go 4 days a week but I know I need rest days. Once I do the 30mins I think I'll go straight into 10k and try and get that before Christmas. Enjoy your weekend everyone

Very well done indeed...but slow down a little... you've made so many changes,, take some time to enjoy as you move towards Graduation :)

A healthy eating regime, linked with this works wonders...Hopefully you have upped your rest day exercises too. This is useful for using up the extra energy which makes you want to run again.

Stamina and core strength are increasingly important, especially if you are thinking of embarking on a 10K plan....the longer runs are built on the foundation of great stamina :)

Most weeks I would do a wee extra run/walk. Unfortunately up until Christmas I'll probably be working 7 days a week so I. Not planning to any more that my 3 days, personal trainer night and a extra run /walk. I do need a wee break and time to relax with kids.

Some great 10 minute exercises can be done at home...:) Brisk long walks are great... I used to walk miles and miles when small runner in training was a baby...Go you anyway!

Thanks. What would you do in 10mins in the house?

I do things like a 10 minute standing abs workout..or weight workout for upper arms...I have a regular routine anyway..but while on the IC waiting for some MRI results..I started adding on some extras using Body Fit with Amy..on you tube...as I needed ones which did not impact on my knee. I have sent you a link in a PM.

Brilliant progress! Well done Johnny, you’re smashing the programme and making yourself fitter and leaner all at once. 👏 Sounds like the running bug has really taken hold. Once that happens, there’s no turning back! 😀
