W7 R1 - done but finding it hard

I've just got back from W7 R1 - so, after W6 R3, my second 25-minute run. I finished both, and am clearly physically capable of it, but I'm worried that I've stopped enjoying it :( These last two runs have just felt like a chore and haven't even made me feel on a high when I've finished them. Struggling to work out how to get my mojo back.

Anyway, I'm off to Paris for two days tomorrow morning and hope I can motivate myself to get out for a run on Friday...

Well done.

I find this plan is a little as you describe towards the end, but I do believe it’s the best way to do this. Once you’ve graduated and consolidated you can start to vary distances and speeds, do some interval work and have a lot of fun as every run is different... C25K is giving you the endurance you need to be able to do all that.

Bon voyage and happy running.

Thanks. I think it's partly my own fault that I haven't enjoyed the last two runs - I normally run early in the morning, but this week I'm off work and have gone out later, when the park is busier which I find quite stressful. This morning in particular I stupidly went out at 8:30am and had cyclists zipping past me in all directions.

Yes... rush hour is for feet up after a run or preparing for it 😂

I've stopped going to the park. I hate them. Too many dogs (I love dogs) but I seem to be the one moving out of the way all the time. I'm just sticking to the roads and footpaths around home. Yellow coat/high viz on and I'm fine. Funnily enough I find running in the morning when it's cooler is so much more enjoyable than later on. Wednesday and Friday I run early but Sunday is later cause I work early mornings. I've found that When I've to the longer runs a lot of its a mental thing to.

My pet hate in the park is running into somebody‘s cigarette smoke. Worst of all is if I run by the fishing area and there’s a group of guys all smoking and I have to run through them. Today I also had to veer onto a muddy bank because a fisherman was blocking the entire path with his shelter which he was laying out flat to repair. They’re never there if I go out before 7am though.

Paris sounds good. have a bit of a rest then on to your r3. I know how you feel. I'm on wk7r2 just finished. It wasn't and like you i thought it would get better. Hopefully it will. Onwards and upwards.
