#Couchto5k Week 4 Run 1 DONE! ๐Ÿƒ

I ran 16 minutes in total last night !!!! Didnโ€™t think I had it in me running 5 mins in one go. (I know all you ultra marathon experts reading this, this is tiny.. But its a big deal for me).

Iโ€™ll be honest I didnโ€™t think Iโ€™d last 3 minutes let alone 5 minutes after the weekend of birthday excesses. It didnโ€™t help the Bluetooth headphones decided to stop pairing with the chuffin phone!

Feeling a little chuffed (as the video shows) with myself as was feeling a little bit anxious out in the dark on my own. But it was OK. Did it anyway. These runs arenโ€™t gonna do themselves. I ran on all street lit roads. Saw other runners which helped too.

Once Iโ€™ve finished the 9 weeks Iโ€™m definitely up for buddying up with someone. Encouraging each other would be a massive help.

Well done Chris! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ‘ You do look mighty proud, and so you should! ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿƒ

You sound like youโ€™ve been bitten by the running bug! Good for you, youโ€™ll smash the rest of W4! Awesome stuff. ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿ˜€

Thanks Cheeky! Not sure about the running bug.. but its not as scary as first imagined. The enjoy word will be used more when i get stronger and stronger.

Believe me, youโ€™ll start enjoying it soon especially when youโ€™re smashing the longer runs with no intervals! The running bug has a habit of biting us all, whether we want it to or not! ๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜…๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒ

You're doing great! The evening is my preferred time so I see less people ๐Ÿ˜†

Good luck for the rest of wk4

I'm not bothered who sees me.. are you like a running vampire then..? nights (in the week days) are really only the option now.. with work.. and i dont think i could do a 6am run!

Hubby likes to come with me - even though nobody would dream of attacking me on my own!! - so evenings are better and I'm doing sober October so less inclined to have a drink after a run ๐Ÿ˜Š

I did a 6am run yesterday - normally I donโ€™t surface until much later than that. But I really enjoyed it and loved how quiet the park was.

Great job Chris. Yep, I had a feeling you were chuffed as I opened the post. So you should be... keep it going and letโ€™s see how happy you are when you finish week 5... you got this.

I'm hoping to get back up to being able to go out with my local running club by the end of the year. The slow group (which is my one) tend to do 8km or so and chat the whole way. It's a nice social thing and I have missed it. I also need to lose some of the previously lost weight that I re-found recently!

Chatting and running...... WOW. Look forward to being able to do that.

Haha. I never thought it would be possible either! I do more listening than chatting to be fair as it's easier. :)

Did you nearly cry at the end!! I did !

Yes.. not because I achieved the 16 mins running.. more that the bluetooth headphones stopped working and i rely on them for my music and Jo Whiley to talk to me. :)
