Week 5 Run 3 smashed! 😁

Wow, I still can't quite believe it. I actually just ran for 20 minutes, non-stop.... 20 MINUTES!!

It was tough and my legs started hurting after literally 5 minutes and I didn't know how I was going to push through until the end... But I did it 😁

Feeling very proud of myself and amazed at this programme right now! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Congratulations Ember22 on completing run 3 of week 5, that is a milestone run with C25K, onwards and upwards to week 6 run 1 but be careful about that run as it catches out some people with the interval walks and runs after the non stop 20 minutes of W5R3 which you have just ran πŸƒπŸΎ 😊 πŸƒπŸΎ

I've just finished day 1 of week 1 :-)

Well done! I am on week 5 but in some ways, day 1 week 1 is probably the hardest. It took me probably 2 years to get to day 1 week 1, but I'm glad I finally got off the couch, and congratulations to you for doing so too.

Ditto. I've been 'talking' about it for a long time. Download the app months ago.

Finally, as the cold, dark winter months draw in, I'm doing it.

Congratulations πŸ‘πŸ‘

I just finished my 25 mins run today. I start Wk7 on Sun.

Funny thing for me is the start of every run seems tiring. The difference now is that I seem to run that off and find my breathing is better.

At the beginning of course I needed the walks to recover but now I can run and recover.

It feels great doesn't it ! 😁

Don't be afraid of the 25 min run at the end of next week as I was. I actually found the stop start of second run harder.

You managed 20, you WILL manage 30 as will I πŸƒβ€β™‚οΈπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ πŸŽ‰

That's fab well done! πŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

I'm still struggling with super achey calves at the moment, which start about 5 mins in to running, so I'm hoping I can keep pushing through it and my calves will start to get stronger soon 🀞

I'm a bit nervous for the 25 min run on Wednesday but I've found the stop/starting of this week quite hard too, so I'm hoping the constant pace of a longer run will be a bit easier again.

Thank you having faith in me πŸ˜‚ I have runs where I don't feel like I'm improving and want to give up, but I'm determined to see this through to the end πŸ’ͺ

Keep up your hard work and you'll be running for 30 mins in no time!

You are doing brilliant and your legs will get stronger as mine have.

I just hit a snag though...

Finished my second 25 min run on Sun Wk7R1 and found it easy but today I have a pain behind my left knee at back of leg.

My initial worry is that it is hamstring orientated.

My run day is tomorrow for WK7R2.

I am going to see what it is like tomorrow. Not sure if I should just go for it and hope it eases itself off or pause for a few days before carrying on.

So typical when I was just getting right into it and enjoying the longer runs.

Oh my God well done!! I'm doing wk 4 run 3 later this morning and already I've started to dread next week, from 5 min jogging to a full 20mins?!

Allymally1 profile image

Don't worry if I managed it you can. If you have followed the programme you are ready for it. It's more a psychological barrier. Just go slow!

Love_to_lift profile image

Thank you, I have forced myself to stick to the programme and not get carried away, going slow has been harder than I thought!

Hooray! That’s super! I remember the amazing feeling when I did the 20 min run, made it seem possible I could actually get to the 5k! I ran my first 10k last week! It’s amazing what we can do if we set our mind to it! Your legs will be tired but I Find that feeling goes a few kms in, just plod on through the tiredness! It will get better!!!!

I am following the writings of Jeff Galloway and using the Run-Walk-Run technique to switch to different muscles before the pain starts.
