Rest day - walking on treadmill

I’ve started C25K at the start of September and have done up to W4R1.

As my days are very sedentary, I would like to do more than the 3 days the program recommends.

What are you guys thoughts on brisk walk for half an hour during rest days?

Am I better off during absolutely nothing on rest days?

Rest day from running! You can do whatever other exercise you like as long as it's not running.Walking is excellent! You can walk anywhere for free. Get outside into the fresh air. Swim, cycle, etc etc

have you read the programme notes. Everything you need to know is there

Good luck!

Please read this guide to the plan healthunlocked.com/couchto5... which points out that any non impact exercise on your rest days is beneficial.............they are rest days from running.........no need to be sedentary, but please do not run on consecutive days.

Working on flexibility and/or strength is a great option too. Yoga or the NHS Strength and Flex are a couple of the many options! :)

Glad you brought this up SamSam! was wondering too. I work from home so if it wasn't for my dog would be all too easy to not move at all! :D I just finished W4R1 this morning too, on my rest days have been walking for about 5 miles a day to try and keep my 10k steps in, before or after the run I've been doing a 3 mile walk with the dog and so far have been fine.
