Illness strikes!

We were supposed to do Week 6 Run 3 yesterday but hubby went out for tea with his workmates so it was postponed til today and now my running partner (my 8 year old son) is full of a cold 😬 looks like we're not going out (doesn't seem fair to make him just so we stick to our schedule!), feel a bit guilty about it, tbh... who'd have thought I'd ever feel guilty about not going running!

Not sure whether to just carry on with week 7 next week as though we've done W6R3 today, given all the runs are 25 minutes long in this section... or is that cheating?!? πŸ€”

Hubby says just have the week off and get back on it by repeating week 6 but I haven't at all enjoyed week 6 so I'm reluctant πŸ˜‚

It's annoying having to pause when you've got your momentum going, isn't it? I've had to miss two of my run days due to illness and a strained achilles. But it is part of the strengthening process too, I reckon. So I had to just accept it.

Personally, I would start at W6R3 as planned. Do what you feel happy with though.

It most definitely is frustrating although obviously can't be helped! Hubby, quite rightly says, it doesn't matter if we take a little bit longer to get to graduation as we've not got a deadline that we need to hit... hate it when he makes a good point πŸ˜‚ like you say though, It's the loss of momentum and I suppose if we do today, but on Monday / Wednesday then we'll only be 2 days behind at most...

Thanks for the advice

I’d do the run... it’s a very carefully put together plan and every run sets you up for the next jump up. No need to repeat though.

Hope the lad is feeling better soon, and in the meantime milking it for all that it’s worth!

Oh, he is deffo milking it πŸ˜‚

Not sure what you mean though, do you mean just do W6R3 when he's better and start from where we should have been?

Yeah, exactly that... you should be fine, no fitness lost in even a couple of weeks without running.

Week 6 Run 3... do it.... slowly and steadily and move on :) You need to do all the runs in a week and it will give you the confidence to move on to Week 7!

Small son... cuddle him... if he is feeling offside.. he needs that :) The runs wait... oh yes, they do!!!

Thank you... I'm glad I posted and appreciate the feedback. W6R3 it is then, when we next get out there.

Hopefully the wee one keeps his germs to himself and we can be back out there soon πŸ‘Œ
