Week 7 : Run 1

Found that a bit easier than run 3 of week 6, for a start my legs were less tired. Still had a couple of moments of thinking I might not make it but then I seem to settle down and get into a rhythm and my confidence sets in. I actually had a 5 min session in the middle of the run where I picked up pace and then drew back again until the last five minutes where I made myself pick up again and still had something left to push harder for the final 60 seconds. I’m not sure I will make 5k by week 9 but I’m not focusing on that, would just love to complete the 30 minutes of running x 3 😊. Good luck everyone else running this week. You can do it!!

Well done that's brilliant, great to have some gas left to finish well , that's a sign of good pacing. Sounds like weeks 1 to 6 prepared you well for week 7!!

I was exactly the same. W6r3 I found very hard... Although not helped by running on the streets after 3-4 weeks off treadmill, but I forgot to have a drink or breakfast before I went and my route should have been the other way around as it was all uphill other than the 5 minute cool down walk. I had to stop a couple of times for about 10 seconds.

Last night I got back on my treadmill and did the 25 minutes no problem (I'd also struggled on the treadmill with w6r1) felt really good and happy after it ☺️

Thanks for that , I was thinking of running outside having done all my runs on the treadmill, I think I might wait until I have more long runs under my belt.. I did W7R1 yesterday and felt more confident I would finish than I did on W6R3.
