Today we nailed both 8 minute runs and covered 3.2 miles in the process (we always finish a decent distance from home so have a fair walk back) and I'm buzzing!
Plus, my fears of running in the dark have subsided slightly as we set off at dusk and there was a very definite darkness before we got home... still not totally comfortable with it but also kind of found it calming...! Whether that continues will remain to be seen, I'm on very definite high alert for weirdos π
Bring on Run 3 and the slightly scary 20 minute run!
The stats I'm seeing on Strava are 100% keeping me motivated and I've definitely caught the running bug... it still amazes me that this is happening!

Congratulations Lola!! Great job! I know what you mean about high alert and I tend to run in the mornings (UnfitNoMore! π€£)! Lots of people do run in the darker hours though. I think itβs just not being used to going out in the dark. π¬ I hear you can buy a head torch and Iβm going to buy one! Otherwise the timing of running in the winter seems like it is going to be a bit challenging at the moment. πβ€οΈ
I don't know why it bothers me so much, maybe cos I run with my son or maybe I'm just a wimp π we have a running track about 10 minutes drive away which would be ideal but you can't use it unless you have a gym membership and I'm not paying Β£23+ a month (plus however much the junior membership is) just to use their running track... I started this up as it was a free (ish) way to get fit!
My plan is to try to stick to main roads or residential areas and hopefully that will be ok!
Head torch might be a good idea too... If only pepper spray wasn't illegal, I would feel a whole lot better ππͺ
I always run on my own so itβs just the thought of doing that in winter at the moment. We could always take up martial arts too though!! π₯πβ€οΈ
Have you done it yet? I'm going in a couple of hours and feeling a bit apprehensive... it's cold, wet and windy which doesn't help. Not sure why I feel like I do, I've managed everything that's been asked of me in this program yet I'm just a bit like π¬
I've no doubt I'll feel amazing later if all goes to plan but for the first time since that very first run I'm tempted to not go out!!
