W3R1 - indeed a nice run

Late post, as I completed my run yesterday after work.

It was very nice run along the canal with my dog and sun :) Very nice temperature, although maybe a bit humid. First longer warm up walk to reach the path, then easy 90 sex jog and walk. First 3 min run - what a pleasure, nice steady slow pace, quiet peace, steady breathing, sun, birds. Just wonderful! Nice walk break. Then 90 sec jog and walk. We passed by two dog owners with very little disturbing in my pace. And then, the second 3 min run came. For the first 2 min, it was good, but hard. The last minute or so, oh my running gods... I was praying for my tired dog to slow down, I was praying for everyone to disappear not to cause additional excitement in her, and for the run to be over with. Despite 2 other dogs on our path and 1 small dog argument, me stepping on some uncomfortable stone which felt like a hit just in the middle of my feet. We finished our run with nice long walk. She still had enough power to have disagreement with small dog O_O she is definitely gaining endurance and fitness level faster than I am :P

80% of my stress gone :) smile on my face appeared. The next 15% of stress I got rid of during 40 min stretching, nice short warm/hot bath to relax leg muscles, and 30 min of guided meditation. No, I normally don't meditate. Recently, I've started doing so to check if it helps with stress. 10 min of sitting and concentrating on breathing helps. This was my second long mediation. I am not convinced about the longer ones. But I can swear for running+stretching stress relief :)

Happy running!

Blimey IgaT, no wonder you started with a longer warm up if you went straight into a sex jog - very adventurous! 😳

Joking aside it sounds like you had a much better run than the last and a great relaxing finish - well done 👍

IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

Well... I bet you can find many fans of shining ;) have a nice one! Maybe add some Disney sprinkle by yourself. Have you seen the Friends TV series with Phoebe running? And there you go some Disney :P

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

Would love to but I tend to run in the morning. My next run is due Thursday. The crappy thing is I’m back at work on Friday 😭😭 no running then till Monday when I start nights!!! 🙄

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

Morning runs can be so amazing. Why you cannot run with other gift than night? Too tired? Too extreme hours? Well... Whatever the reason, have a good run on Thursday!

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

I do shift work so 3 long days then in to 2 v long nights. Finish nights Wednesday then I’ll run Thursday. Which is 💩 but nothing I can do about it 🤷🏽‍♀️😔

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

OMG! That is hectic!

You are my new hero and inspiration that you manage to run at all. No more excuses for me, for being tired or not having time.

You deserve a gold star and a medal 🏅!

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

Omg no way!! I struggle and feel guilty for not being able to run. But I’m doing Thursday Monday and then Thursday. Omg that Thursday will be week 4 🤬😡💩🤬🤮

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

You see! Week 4! This is how amazing you are! So much hard work and determination despite challenging work pattern.

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

Stop it!! I mean it my head will grow and then I’ll be top heavy!! Can you imagine trying to run like that 🤷🏽‍♀️😱 think Shrek the first one where the guy dresses up as Lord Farquis ? Is that right? It’s been a while since I watched it

What’s your story? Do you work?

You run with your pup like me 🐕

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

It should grow more like a wings, not any stone-like heavy object. I'm just watering the plants you seeded ;)

Oh yeah, Shrek in those clothes - hilarious, like me running in thighs leggings showing off porcelain white calves and knees, with dirty white running shoes (as my normal black one caused me troubles). And yes, those shoes (that I wore during second part of my wedding) are now paired with black sport socks (as try don't do running ones for tiny feet like mine).

My story... So many of them... In short: I'm working 8-4, almost only sitting. Have 4st10lb (30kg) 7yo rescue 'puppy' (lab+amstaff/pit bull mix). No kids. Taking care of house, as my partner is almost every week on business trip. Searching for new job, house to buy somewhere more up North (quite close to Peak District), learning new language (at the moment). And trying not to get too crazy ;)

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

Oh wow that’s cool. What language? I’m NW so if you get closer we could both die... I mean run together 😂

I love puppies if I could I would be the crazy animal person (having said that already am 🤭 crazy hair and all )

Well least you are getting some use from your runners 🏃‍♀️.

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

NW? Like Manchester? I'd gladly die / run with you :)

I've just started to learn Japanese.

I love crazy puppy people, as I'm one of them. If I could I'd have house full of dogs and puppies <3

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

How amazing would that be!!

I’m more Cheshire but Manchester is just down ta road

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

We may be running half marathons or similar before I move up, as it is more long term plan - 2, maybe 3 years from now ;)

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

I now see people run and just think one day!!!

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

We are already one of those people who run! Can you imagine? I still can't.

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

I think my PE teacher would have a nervous breakdown if she heard I was running!! It literally would shock her to the core!!

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

Hehehehe :D I just imagined my athletics teacher who saw me multiple times trying to pass 1.5km (<1mile) run without success. And yes, I was training and preparing myself to pass it.

Our teachers wouldn't believe it even if they would see it.

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

I think there is a lot of teachers that would be shocked at my life.

Think they thought I was going to be a daydreamer 🤔 having said that I’ve not really changed that much 😊🧚🏻‍♀️🦄

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

I have no idea what my teachers thought, I was too talkative to let them talk :P Very comfortable in 1-on-1 with teachers, not so much with my colleagues or, god forbid, in front of the class. And now, I am sharing my life on the internet with people I haven't met. And surprise, they are my running family now :)

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

Omg same!!! I hate big groups as well unless 💩 is hitting the fan then I’m not so bad

How you today?

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

I think I might have found a soulmate or sister ;)

I'm good, or rather I will be as today after work my run is waiting for me :) Probably without dog, as my partner is at home today / work from home, so she will walk her before I finish my work.

How are you?

Ibot profile image
Ibot in reply toIgaT

Hmm suffering with vertigo today which is crap. Thankfully I’m not in work and tomorrow is my run day!!

Why does that happen you get some time off work and your body goes to 💩

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toIbot

Yes, I know. I am afraid of my holidays, as I haven't got a proper break for almost a year. So I planned my annual leave for December, I hope my body won't fall apart :P

Hold on tight over there! And relax, do something nice for yourself even if it will be a nice cup of tea or coffee.

Sounds like a good plan. Weather looks rubbish so going to have a veg day

Well done IgaT ...I always do extra warm ups, 8 mins before I set all my tech going, so a longer warm up is something I’d always recommend 😉 and it def worked for you coz this sounds like a real stress buster of a run/cool down & meditation 🧘‍♂️...lovely pic of your dog too, looks like she’s enjoying herself in those beautiful surroundings x

IgaT profile image
IgaTGraduate in reply toMummycav

She'd rather be in that water :P but yes, she appears much happier since she is running with me. I hope I appear happier since I started running (with myself). I used to do 5-10 warm up exercises, now it is 10-15 Mon brisk walk from work to home, changinbclothes, grabbing my dog, and off we go :)
