Completed week 9 and struggling with distance

Congratulations on your graduation, fellow runner, you have already proved that learning to run has fantastic health benefits.
Running for 2.7k is something that most 70 year olds cannot do, so be proud of that achievement and don't get hung up on the distance figure.
This guide to post C25K running may be helpful healthunlocked.com/couchto5... and offers advice on increasing distance and pace.
There are no shortcuts and it all takes time, so keep running and keep smiling.

It all sounds like an amazing achievement to me. Well done! Keep at it and I'm sure you will get there.

Wow youโve done amazingly ๐ช๐ป๐

Iโm still at the very beginning so have no helpful advice for you - sorry. Just wanted to say Well done, both for the achievement and for your commitment to doing even better. Youโre a star ! ๐ฅ

Well done on doing such amazing things for your health, you might want to look at Jay66UK โs profile to see how he increased the time he ran until he reached the 5k mark ๐๐
Thank You
Hi! I was also quite overweight when I started. Well done for what youโve achieved so far.
Based on loads of advice from those who have gone before, I kept to running two thirty minute runs a week and I made my third run โgrowโ by 10% - so it went roughly 33, 36, 40, 44, etc.
Once I reached 5k I then switched to doing two 30 minutes and a 5k each week. As my weight dropped and my speed increased this became two 4ks and a 5k.
Iโve since carried on to reach 10k - come back to me when you are ready for that one!
Enjoy your next run x

Congratulations, fantastic job ๐ช๐ป

Wow, amazing achievement. You could walk some of the park run and run the rest.

Youโre doing fine ๐๐. We all progress slowly and carefully, plugging away, one foot in front of the other We get there though ๐ช๐. Itโs a great journey and so worthwhile sticking with. Thereโs no limit and we can just keep going
We get stronger then quicker. we get stronger by slow running ๐ช
Parkrun is brill and a very supportive environment for runners of all kinds
You can register, get your bar code and off you go ๐
