Hi all, would be interested to know what apps people are using to measure how far you are running - the one I'm aware of is Strava -is this the best one to use?

TIA

I'm using Map my Run recommended to me by Run1980

Hi I used Strava Mapmyrun and runkeeper all on the same run to see which I liked best. Each give slightly different stats. I only used the free option on each.

Ended up with runkeeper as couldn't persuade my bro to change apps! But preferred Mapmyrun presentation of stats.

Don't worry too much about them to start with. As my run segments have increased my distance has decreased 🙈 but will be interesting to look back on when I get to properly running the routes I use.

Enjoy the running 👍😊

Thanks very much for the info, will try them out :-). Just worried now that as I live in a poor signal area the apps won't work anyway! he

Trying to enjoy the running! Once or twice I have, hopefully there will be more moments like that in the coming runs :-)

hi, if you have poor signal and you find those apps don't work well, you could try plotting your route online before/after? I hear "mapometer" is good for this :)

I use mapmyrun - really easy to use, tells you your splits every kilometre. Nice to see the map of your run at the end although my one course seems to have me running across a lake! Knew I could walk on water!

I used Strava as I got to the end of c25k but time is the most important thing on this programme. Once I graduated and started getting interested in pace/distance etc I bought a gps watch which is easier to manage and links with music and Strava, and gives some great stats.

Thanks Dexy5, yes am concentrating on time at the moment - just done Wk4 r1 so still some way to go until I do the first 20 min run, but want to be able to map out and track a 5k route after I graduate. Will take a look at Strava. :-)
