I’ve had the app downloaded for a while, yet never opened it up - until tonight!
I’m in my late twenties and the most running I have ever done was when I was at school! Even then, my strongest runs were always the shorter sprints! Running has never really been for me if I’m honest, I find the idea of pounding the pavement alone quite boring. However, I’ve recently had a baby and I’ve lost all confidence in myself and feel like I need to regain it, along with losing some weight and improving my health. What better way to do it than with a new challenge.
Hopefully I won’t find it as boring as I think I will. I’ve got a good playlist set, my daughter in mind and it’s my goal to set out tomorrow after the gym and get W1D1 under way.
Wish me luck!

Yet another of our awesome Mamas... you won;t be bored here.. we rock... check this post out... take on board the advice... slow and steady and have fun!!!.
Good luck - I have just started week 3 and have never run before - it’s only half an hour and it is over before you know it. I like to run round the reservoir and yes a play list makes it easier. 😀
Good luck! I know how you feel....I have never enjoyed running and have just started week 5. Had my second baby nearly a year ago, so figured it’s been long enough for me to have no valid excuse anymore! Hoping my old jeans will fit me by winter! 😝
I’m very lucky where I live, we are right on the sea but also have beautiful countryside right on our doorstep too. I might spice up my first run and go by the sea front.
Good luck. Just get out there and do it. Stick on your playlist and take it as slow as you can, you can do this. I used to run (always hated it but I'd made new friends who kept dragging me out running kicking and screaming, so i lapsed and havent ran in years) I'm noe mid 40s small and flabby but I've made it to Week 4 and none of my old running buddies know I'm doing this programne. I'm doing it this time FOR ME. The support from everyone on here is amazing, I love reading runners posts, they help spur me on. Try not to look ahead at future weeks as can freak you out, I take each run as it comes. The programme is set out to gradually increase your running at a safe pace. Keep us posted, it'll be nice to hear hoe you are getting on. Go Mama.
Hi there. I am a nurse age 54 and recently started c25k. Never been a runner. Recent scare with high bp prompted change. Lost 2 stone at slimming world and bp back to normal. Hope to keep fitter. I run with my dog and he is good company. Playlist is a good idea and the app talks to you so that is a great help too.
Good luck and keep posting on here. You get lots of encouragement.
I would love to run with my dog. He’s a beautiful Labrador, but honestly hes not the greatest walking so he’s no doubt trip me up on a run 😂 he frequently wraps himself around a tree or walks into a bench!
You could give it a go with your dog. My chocolate lab is only 2 and a bit pulley and loves to sniff but is doing well when we run. Think he enjoys the quicker pace
Hi I'm on w3r2. I too have never been someone that can or did run. I'm 48, I'm the heaviest I've ever been, and get out of breath l watching a fitness video. I finished radiotherapy in January and started this in the middle of August. The first week I thought there was no chance I'd be able to get through this. On Friday, for the first time in my life I ran on a treadmill. Wobbly bits and all surrounded by gym bunnies. Yesterday I completed my longest run ever. It's early days but already I've had 2 personal firsts and it has boosted my confidence no end. I never thought I'd l say this but I kinda look forward to run days. I find if I run in a loop, or do the walk one way then turn and run the opposite way I don't notice the distance I'm covering so it's less daunting. Some nice scenery is a good distraction too. Stick with it because you will really surprise yourself.
Am confident you will enjoy running. I've never run and as I'm a retired nurse who recently turned 60 - I thought I would try this app. On week 7 now and actually look forward to runs and always feel energised after the run . Enjoy and best wishes for your running and your nursing career. X
