Did my 20 mins run yesterday and actually found I could have done more which gives me confidence for this week. This morning, did week 6r1- everyone said was a killer- took advice from here, walked faster and ran slower. All went well. Covered 4km. 5km within my grasp! Roll on wk 6 run 2 😁

Glad you’re doing well but it’s not a good idea to run on consecutive days. It greatly increases the risk of injury. The rest days are an important part of the plan, that’s actually the time when your muscles repair and strengthen so if you miss them out you cause damage. You can do low impact exercises like walking and swimming on those days - it’s not complete rest just a rest from running- but to avoid injury PLEASE don’t miss out the rest days. They are a really important part of the programme.

Thanks- need to do Tuesday and Thursday this week due to work commitments so needed to miss a rest day somewhere. Feeling good.

Believe me I've been in the same position. I didn't have to miss a rest day though. I just accepted the programe was going to take a little longer. As distinct from a LOT longer if I'd got injured. Not having a go, I'm really happy you're doing well but the rest days are actually critical to the way the training works and missing them out makes no more sense than skipping a run. A lot is happening in your body on those days that needs to happen for the training to work.

Well done Emily that's amazing. You've got the big now and that buzz will keep you going. Don't rush it though. Fatigue and injury are the main reasons that people don't continue. Keep up the brilliant work!!
