Yep! Embrace your 🐌 and all will be good. Your previous runs have been leading to this. Banish those Gremlins and enjoy! Good luck and don’t forget to let us know how you got on 💪🏻

Yes it’s right. I’m just starting W5 on Monday and definitely a little concerned about R3!!!

You can do it... don’t fear it... slow and steady

If you do a search for W5R3 you will find lots of posts like yours, doubting the plan and the ability to beat it, along with loads more celebrating a great victory.

You just ran/brisk walked for 21 minutes.

Keep it slow, trust the plan, believe in yourself, practice grinning.

You can do it.

It’s right. I did it today... relax, it’s not too big a jump, you’re ready.

Yes it certainly is right, and you won’t believe how awesome you feel when you’ve done it! Your body will be ready, honestly. 👍

It’s very doable (loads of posts on here about it), so take it slow and steady and have fun!

We’re here cheering you on. 👏👏

Sure is.. just another different run that has got itself a really bad reputation...( unfairly), you are as IannodaTruffe says, totally ready for it... all you have to do is take it slowly and steadily and know that you will do it:)

Yip it is. I asked that question yesterday.

Advice I got was take it nice and slow. So I’m gonna take the advice of the wonderful community we have on here.

Why? You may ask because everyone on this app wants everyone to succeed.

Yip we can do this

There is a common misunderstanding about the C25K program. Often, the walking sections are regarded as a rest, or some kind of break. But the walking is expected to be brisk, and the walking sections are intended only to allow your heart-rate to recover whilst you are building stamina and endurance.

So in W5r2 you will run/walk/run for 8/5/8 and a total of 21 minutes exercise. During the first run, your heart-rate will climb to it's peak for running. As you start the walking section, your heart-rate will fall back, but it will take 3-4 minutes to drop, and then after 5 minutes you start running again anyway. Quickly your heart-rate will climb, and then it will gradually increase during the 8 minute run. At the end of the 8 minute run your heart rate will probably be the highest that it has been during C25K so far.

Sure, W5r3 is 20 minutes of running, but from a heart rate (effort) perspective it is not so different from W5r2. And you are only active for 20 minutes, not 21. So no, it is not impossible: you have nothing to worry about. Simply start off slower than you've run before.

I felt the same as I set out this morning but I just kept pushing and I did it! The sense of achievement and pride was unbelievable. You should be so proud of yourself for getting this far.
