16 and 5 brisk walking... all cardio... or 20 cardio... the only real difference is in the mind... go nice and slowly and amaze yourself.

If you've done the other runs you can definitely do this one. It's the first mind over matter because your body is prepared! Start with running the first 10 minutes (because you know you can do it) and then just try a couple of other minutes and soon you've done most of it.

You can do it!

This is the best run ever.

Nothing has eclipsed my w5r3.

Not 5k. Not 10k not HM distance.

That run, quite simply was the one that showed me I really could do it, even though I thought I wasn't going to succeed, that I would give up partway and walk, that then I wouldn't even finish the programme anyway...

The sheer joy of making it through was quite frankly earth shattering. I could not stop grinning like a fool for hours. I would go so far as to say that moment was one I will cherish forever. Even completing the programme wasn't as overwhelming as that acheivement.

Do not rob yourself of the opportunity to see what you can really do. It's just a handful of songs and then BOOM! 🏃‍♀️☄

thank you that’s so good to hear!!! really interesting that you get even more of a buzz from that one than the final one. i can totally understand why! Hopefully i can do it this week ahhhhhhh!!!

Slow down abit, take it easy and you can do it. It's much easier to keep on running straight through as you keep the momentum going. Enjoy it!

You will be fine. W5R3 is defo more a mental than physical challenge. Nice and steady, set yourself up for success with your favourite route.

Focus on how amazing you will feel afterwards. 💪🏃‍♀️

Hi Run4ever... I did wk5 run 3 very recently and it was much easier than I expected.... but I did run very very slowly as i was determined that i was going to finish... and because I had put in the distance with previous training runs (just like you already have) i was able to do so.... You really can do it... and you deserve it.... You have already put in the work. I just did week 6 run 1 tonight so you are virtually at the same stage as me

I thought the exact same thing last week.... completed run 3 yesterday evening... Was dreading it but the advice is good. Download around 35 mins of your favourite songs (Personally I finished with Fall out boy's "The Pheonix") and think of it in 5 min runs.. there is only 4 and if you finish with a song you find uplifting it will be Euphoric! I also find starting with "Survivor" by destiny's Child gets me started with a determined attitude but think that may be completely personal reasons. I also tell myself that nothing good ever came easy.... Keep at it, if I can do it anyone can!!

Hey! You got this, trust in the program. Mind over matter! Once you complete you’ll be totally excited. I went through the same thing, kept telling myself I can’t do it. Then I did it and wanted to run longer. Stop delaying you got this, out on some good music.

As others have said, this run really is mind over matter. Your body can do it but the mind is full of doubt. It's 4x 5min runs and once you've done two you've turned around and are on the way home. It is the greatest feeling when you've done it. I'm on W7 run1 and knowing I can do the 20mins means I know I only need to find 5more mins. It really can be done.

Good luck.

It took me 3 attempts until I finally smashed the 20 minute barrier. At first I was disappointed but reminded myself that a few weeks ago I couldn't even run for 1 minute.

Take your take and take it slow. If you make it, fantastic, if not - it's all practice for the next time. Good luck :)

Thank you for providing a balanced reply for those of us who might not manage it the first time! I've had a lot of health set-backs over the past month - food intolerance, vertigo - and wasn't able to run so I still haven't got past wk5 run 2 even with constant positive pep talking while I'm running (super slowly!) You've inspired me that hopefully I'll get there in the end. Looking forward to my legs feeling stronger and my mind winning the battle!!

Hey Run4ever , today (in about and hour's time) is my W5R3. I know exactly how you feel, I'm feeling it a bit myself. It feels like the first big one but as has been said, you have already done 16 mins in your last run plus an extra 5 mins walk. I'm looking at it as just another 4 mins running and 5 mins less walking. You can do it!

W5R3 done! It was tough but the first 2 runs of W5 prepare you well. You can definitely do this!!!

Brilliant, well done! Feels good doesn't it?

I was struggling after about 17 mins but kept going to the end. It was a tough one but definitely a bridge crossed.

Best of luck for W6! See you on the other side :)
