Way to go... good run. It’s generally better to go faster in the second half, but today you proved you have that in you... and it also says next run won’t be an issue. You have more in the tank than 2 x 10 as you went faster in one. 25 at your normal pace is in those legs for sure. Go get it.
Totally agree. I wanted to test myself today by pushing myself harder. I decided go faster in the first 10 minutes and see how I coped in the second 10 minutes (agreed it us unconventional!). The second 10 minutes was hard, but I made it and went faster in the last minute. I wanted to push myself to make sure I finish W6R3. I will take the next run nice and steady.
So..well done and ... slow down... if the runs are tough... your body is letting you know it!
These longer runs are just perfect for relaxing into and letting the newly forming running legs find their own happy pace...
Don't push... cruise... don't smash it... saunter through it...as the runs get longer it is important to start slow and stay slow... and upping the rest day exercise too will pay dividends.
Thank you! This is all new to me, so any advice is welcome and will make me think about future runs. Every run so far has been tough and I cannot imagine runs ever being ok. I quite like it being difficult every time - it gives me a challenge and keeps me motivated.
