Hello Lizzie,
In my experience it's more of a shape tone change mostly. After about 5 weeks I noticed the belt needed to go in a further notch which pleased me.
Just wish the weight bit would change but it has not but I think my working hours are the cause leaving home at around 5am and getting back around 7pm.
You can not outrun a bad diet. If nutrition is good, running will help a lot. In the early days though running will use fat for fuel and also build muscle. It’s possible in that stage to see weight rise slightly but size reduce. After the muscles are fully developed you should be able to burn excess fat that remains off... but that could be 2 years from now.
Weight Loss NHS forum on here alongside C25K would be a very strong combination for weight loss alongside body shape... but measure yourself... sometimes the scales will show a “bad” week but the inches lost will show you that it was actually a great week.
Great info
Thanks a lot, I had a feeling this was the case .... just love the feeling after running
Being toned will b a bonus
There’s an NHS BMI calculator... if you feed your details in it will tell you your BMI (no surprise there) and also give you a calorie range. If you’re overweight or above, that range is for weight loss... and you need to be eating towards the top end of that range to lose weight slowly. If you can do that and also run you’ll get to where you want to be in weight, fitness and body shape fairly easily. You may need to tweak what you eat if you hit healthy BMI and have a spare tyre waistline, but that’s for another day.
The biggest killers of weight loss are stress (running kills stress) and not eating enough... that’s where the calculator helps.
I'm on week 8 and have been eating well calorie counting on mfp and have lost 1 1/2 stone and lots of inches. Not cheated once so I am over the moon. Totally surprised myself x
Lean and keen... not necessarily losing weight though.. toned, taut and tightened
Lose the scales and go with how you feel and your fit of your clothes... healthy eating regime and this are a winning combination...
