Week 1 Run 1.

So today I completed the first run. I found it relatively difficult, but have never run before, so that probably explains it. I was wondering if anyone has experienced weight loss through the C5k programme?

I have graduated c25k today and have lost 5lbs since I started, but this was combined with following slimming world. So it was the combination of both rather than c25k alone.

More importantly than weight loss I have dropped inches off my legs, waist and hips and am much more toned all over than I have been in years.

Good luck with your journey. X

What Sandi said.

You cannot outrun a bad diet. Though eventually running means you can get away with more “bad” food as you use it to fuel runs... that’s months/years away.

You’ll tone up with running. Part of that is you’ll burn fat (especially going slower and jogging) but you’ll put muscle on. Muscle is heavier. So you could burn lots of fat, put on lots of muscle and be heavier than you started... but you’ll also be smaller. Measure yourself everywhere... then when the scales say you’ve done “badly” get that measure back out and see the real story.

Great job doing the first run... it’s not easy.

Welcome and well done for getting first run out of the way! Probably the biggest hurdle to overcome. Yep same as other guys said. Diet is key to loosing weight the runs actually burn off fewer calories than you might think, I have been running for 12 weeks now and have lost no weight but that was not my goal. Focus on getting fit and enjoy the great feeling you get when you achieve your C25k goals !

Brilliant starting the programme! 👏👏👏👏

As the others have already said, it’s not so much losing weight, it’s losing inches and toning your body. I wasn’t looking to lose weight, but being a woman of a certain age, I needed to firm things up - and they have!

So don’t get hung up on weight loss, look at your body as a whole and watch it transform slowly but surely!

Good luck! Remember to update us! 🏃‍♀️🏃‍♀️😀😀

Check this out and welcome.

Not a wight loss programme.. but some folk lose weight, some don't :) I put weight on at one point!

You will feel toned, and fitter and stronger... leaner, keener and raring to go :)

Linked with a healthy eating regime, this is a winning combination :)

Well done you!
