We have bought a smoothie maker and love it, however, the base of orange juice is often sold in the horrible plastic bottles, which are so bad for the environment. Does anyone know of any half-decent OJs that don't come in plastic?
Loose oranges and a juicer would be my preferred solution. Failing that our local greengrocer has a big juicer and we can refill bottles there... still plastic but no longer single use. I noticed a Tesco store relatively close now has one of these in their fruit and veg section, not sure how they’re doing the bottle system, but I guess it’s gonna be rolled out to all stores.
Loose oranges are fine for me, but the Mrs is in such a rush to get out in the mornings that she simply doesn't have time. Good news about Tesco though. I shall look into that at my local shops.
That is a good point, but as we live on Dartmoor, we don't have deliveries. It may be worth looking in the farm shop though. Expensive, but what price the environment?
