Well, that was fun lol! I won't lie, I found it tough, so much so I paused everything for 20 seconds, had a wee quick sob and then ran on. It's the pain in around the ankles and down the outside of my calves that hurts. Grand after the run, so I'm wondering do i need new trainers, or is it just my weight π€
And Sarah... Well she is a laugh, telling me I'm only half way through a run or have 1 minute left when I'm thinking, wow how well am I doing, I've finished that stretchπ
But saying that, I'm persevering and am gonna beat that snail π I see every now and again π
Aches and soreness will get better as you progress x
Can't advise 're shoes as I'm no expert but make sure you're doing stretches and a brisk warm up each time and lots of stretches after.
Try to land as softly as possible when you run - it's not easy but I spent a few runs concentrating on it and it really helped with my achy knees. You should aim to make hardly any noise as your feet hit the floor - the softer you can land the less stress on your joints. I'm also carrying 6 stones of unwanted baggage so I do understand how hard it is. X
I'm doing my 5 min walk before I start my run but no stretching π€π and am trying not to be too elephant footed when running lol. And all this while I've nearly got my breathing right π
I just do a few simple stretches at the beginning - I think it's more important at the end to really stretch it out.
I also found those insoles for running have helped with cushioning - they were in Lidl with the sports kit Β£3.50 I think. The more your body gets used to running hopefully the less aches you'll have - I suffer much less than I used to - in the early weeks my body used to scream at me a lot moreπ x
