I have so far completed the programme slowly on a treadmill. Being a single parent with limitedchild care makes running outside hard.
Yesterday my kind and supportive neighbour watched lil man whilst I ventured to the great outdoors! I must say it felt much easier and as Sarah said stop running at 28 minutes I felt good and was a little too far from home so kept going. I managed to get to 30 minutes and checked my watch, seeing it saying almost 3.1 Miles I kept going (having deducted 0.3 miles for the warm up run). I did it!!
I RAN 5k! 34 minutes and so pleased but boy to my hips hurt today!

Congratulations, both for the 5km and for getting outside. Running outside is fab.
"my hips hurt today"... then you've probably over-done it. Sure, running outside is exhilarating, but don't get carried away. The objective of this program is to run for 30 minutes, three times in a week. OK, it is called C25K but the 5km is not the objective. Being able to run safely and without getting injured 3 times per week is the objective. Distance, speed, pace, these can all come later. Build your strength and endurance gently and slowly.
