I'm only on week 2 (one run left to do before week 3) and I find myself thinking about running ALL the time!
My birthday is coming up in a couple of a weeks and there's a very definite running theme around my present suggestions to the hubby - what's happening to me?!?!
I think it's safe to say, I've got the bug!
From reading other folks posts I think I might be running quicker than the program expects at the moment but I'm, just, managing to complete the runs so that should be ok, right?
Played tig with my daughter today and chased her around the Soccerdome a bit without getting out of puff, at all, so that was pleasing. Just need to get my eating under control and then I can get the real, full, benefit of this awesome program!
Slightly random and garbled post π

Glad you are enjoying your running LolaMac, I don't like the word addiction being used here on C25K, yes the running bug I don't mind, the word addiction conjures up someone on drugs, no druggies here on C25K. Nice that you were playing tig with your daughter today and you managed to keep up with her, just shows you the benefits of this running program already for you and you are only on week 2. You cannot run all the time, follow the program, that means that you must take at least 1 day off between runs.
I don't run all the time, I always make sure I have at least one day off and, thanks to life which has a habit of getting in the way, it might even be two days off but I am constantly thinking about going to the next run!
Apologies if my use the A word has offended... it certainly wasn't my intention.
The day off (minimum) makes sense... I couldn't do it every day if I wanted to as hubby goes to the gym twice a week and then the kids having after school stuff too, so life won't let me ... which is good, really!
Omg yes! I drive myself crazy thinking about running CONSTANTLY! Sometimes I canβt switch off and sleep properly as Iβm thinking about what next π¬ Iβm glad there are others similar π
Yeah, it's a bug that bites and hangs on tight! Regarding speed, we're all different ages, levels of fitness etc, so as long as you're not absolutely exhausted when you finish a run you can go at whatever speed you feel comfortable with. Good luck!
Thanks for that... let's say, I'm always grateful of the walk and I seem to recover in time to start the next run so I figure that's ok. Whether I can keep up the same pace when it comes to running for longer remains to be seen. I guess I just need to listen to my body
Well done! I completed w2r3 yesterday, I made a running playlist today π looking forward to starting W3 tomorrow, Iβve noticed the difference in my energy levels too π
I'd love to have a playlist but I go running with my son who does nothing but natter the whole time so I wouldn't be able to listen to it even if I did create one π
Don't worry about 'running quicker than the programme expects' as the programme is time based and has no expectations in terms of speed or distance (despite the name). What matters is you run at a pace YOU can sustain - and everybody is different in that respect. A common test is whether you could hold a conversation while running at that speed.
It genuinely does do this to you! I too have caught the running bug, I love being outdoors and the feeling you get afterwards, my husband asked me what I wanted for my birthday also my answer was lycra lol what on earth has happened to me π
This is my current plan... a nice waterproof and reflective jacket seeing as it's only going to get darker, wetter and colder! Plus an arm band to house my phone so I can hear what it's saying a bit better... they're my top wants π
