Still trying to master running a 5k. Knees are still killing me, and this morning the contents of my water bottle leaked and sprayed the contents down my front. Then I nearly got run over by a lorry flying down a country lane.
Mo Farah can rest easy, this 61 yr old aul doll won’t be catching him any time soon! Pace is still very slow...though 3 minutes faster than a month ago, I’ll not be doing 5k in 30 minutes for a good while. Even if my mental strength can overcome the complaints of my knees. 🤣.
I’ve entered a 5k run next week - should I start near the front and let everybody pass me, or near the back and come puffing in last? Decisions, decisions...

That’s not a bad time. Remember we only signed up for couch to 5k and we can do it!! I’m around your age and around that time too. RESULT!! I’ve done two parkrun and as long as you keep to the side at the start you’ll find your natural place in the pack. I volunteered this morning - first finisher was really going for it and came in under 17 min!! I’m happy to get round but because of age-group categories I’ve come in second and first in my age group (won’t say how many of us there were😆). Hope your knees recover and good luck next week.
Smoke and mirrors!! I’m a fraction over 34 min but have lost the will to compete with myself!! Talked to someone from my local running club today though as I’m afraid I’ll lapse (just like I posted on Facebook when I started C25K). I’m a serial unfinished - until now!
Ive just found out I'm invited to a big event next Friday night. It will involve plenty of craic, plus...gin. I may post poorer times at the Sat morning run...(cough, ahem...) 😂
