Week 1 Complete!

I got in the gym around 8:30 pm and completed my final run of the week! I was really surprised at my mental state from the lead up to the execution of the run. Surprising for me, I was looking forward to it, and then during the run, I was tired but also in my head I kept saying '' I can do it... wait I'm actually doing it... ITS HAPPENING IM DOING IT''. I mean, I 've already done it twice so that definitely boosted my morale. I just felt good. I maintained a decent posture, my breathing was good and I went faster. Week 2 awaits and I can't deny that I AM nervous, but I know I can do it! Hope everyone else's weeks went well, week 2 runners tell me it's going to be ok! haha.

I run outdoors but aware that as evenings get darker I may retreat to the works gym. My question is this. How do you determine your running speed? Do you set it at xkm/hr or change the speed each time depending how you feel?

Well, essentially I use the treadmill. I know it's not for everyone but I like using it right now because its flat (unless I want to incline) and I can set my speed. I just change it when I go from a brisk walk to a run. Towards the end, I might increase my speed a bit more depending on how I feel. It also tells me the distance I've run and calories which is handy. I'm thankful my gym is quiet too so I can focus. Hope that helps!
