Yesterday due to an unplanned overindulgent Saturday night I reverted back to being a CP.
Thankfully I had booked today off so after a leisurely breakfast I set off for my run. Not feeling physically strong after my lazy Sunday I had to dig deep for the mental strength to complete the run. It worked, I did it, again I'm not sure how or where this inner strength has come from but nothing has ever gripped me on a regular basis for 7 weeks before.
I've done yoga, Pilates, hiked, climbed mountains, skiied but it's not a regular thing and I get bored or suffer an injury which makes me back off.
This has been (on the whole) running every other day for seven weeks. For me I think the ability to vary my runs keeps me interested and the structure and challenge of the program pushes me at the right pace allowing me to achieve realistic goals. I now know 5k is achievable, I may not be a pretty sight at the end (see today's cracking photo finish) but I will do it!! Thank you C25K guys you are all amazing XX

Great job, great post. The odd couch potato day is good for the soul, I do my 3 runs, 3 days with some kind of workout and one day sat my butt, which happens to be today. Iβm appreciating having energy while relaxing. Before I started this I had no energy and hated the fact I didnβt have a way of changing that. Only I did, this was here all along!
Thank you unfitnomore π it's all about balance, for me I'm finally getting it, that I can have a day off and it's not the top of a slippery slope to coach potato purgatory π₯ππ
I love that title. Hot potato! π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯π₯ππ
I find I've got extra energy now but still stiff as a board. Next month I plan on trying out some yoga or pilates at the gym to see how I get on.
Cheers shub69, I'm getting there on the energy frint. There are yoga classes/YouTube's aimed specifically at runners which I keep meaning to have a look at. If you've not done it before take it easy!! It will help but be careful it's a fully trained instructor who will keep an eye on you! ποΈ
I think you've posted the wrong photo, 'cause you look fine to me. I wouldn't show anyone what I look like for fear of crashing the site. Nothing quite as nice as an unexpected overindulgence but they come at cost. Still, well done you'll be on the podium before you know it.
Thank you sparkyjohn ππ and that's with the beauty app on π³. I'm gobsmacked that I only have 7 runs left!!
Well done for sticking with it!
Iβm very much the same. I do something for ages then stop. I want to try keep it up and keep on being active. Especially as I get older.
It is also important to have rest time and if youβre not feeling it 100% then having a little time off isnβt the worst thing as long as you come back at some point when your hearts back in it.
That's the glowiest I've been post run, it was a toughy.
The end is nigh...!
I tick off my runs on the C25K schedule and there's not many left. We've come so far!! Have a great run tomorrow. Week eight!!! πππββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
Ahh the curse of Mr biscuit man! See how you feel..could be a gremlin that needs to be beat down, but seriously don't push it if you think it's real. There's always the day after and I think it would be heartbreaking to have to pull up short on a run when you have done so amazingly! π€π€
Cheers Daveb88, I usually take the easy option with every excuse under the sun. This time, the excuses are still niggling at the back of my mind but successfully being pushed away. π I believe!!
Good on you for making such as determination to succeed. Excellent and enjoy the remaining weeks of the programme. I know you can do it.πββοΈππ
