Hi everyone,

Just tagged on to my brother running this app so started at week 4. Have just completed run 5.2 in the hills of Austria! Tough! At least when I go home I will have flat roads to look forward to.

Anyone got any advice on getting to 10 k..... bit presumptuous I know but hey, positivity is key!

Well done... but..( there's always a but isn't there..... ); this programme follows a structured nine week plan to get you running for 30 minutes and maybe even running 5K in those nine weeks..

Many replies you will get will echo that. Running muscles and stamina and strength need time to build up safely for most folk....This programme is just the beginning of that process.

This is our post for Newbies..please take a look :)

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

It is a very structured plan and intends to get folk running enjoyably and injury free:)

It sounds as if you may be in advance of this plan, so maybe this is not the plan for you:)

There are lots of apps out there for 10K, maybe that is the way to go?.... :)

I had already started running prior to running with my brother and we are about the same Pace so it’s worked out well.

Sounds as if he is beyond this plan then too..if you are both running 4K :)

I think he means he started running at Week 4 , cos thats where his brother was and he’s already been running before that, and now is on week 5 run 2.

That’s how I read it. Not running 5:2k.

When you get through the C25k there is a forum called Bridge to 10K which will guide you for longer runs. But even if you can easily go and run 5k now, unless you’ve been a regular runner you’ll struggle to repeat that 5k, three times a week and stay injury-free. So that is what the C25k prepares the body for. It’s worth completing it first, including the rest and repair days, to help you on the way to 10K. You’ll be there before you know it and able to stay there and run regularly too. Good luck!!! 🙏🤞🏻😁👍

Ha ha, I did wonder where you thought I’d run all these distances! I started another programme a few weeks ago ( 2 mins running, 1 walking) but tore the ligaments in my foot! Been out for three weeks but starting slowly.
