So I’ve definitely got my mojo back post graduation! This afternoon I dragged my 9 yo son out with me although to be fair he has been keen.
Well I knew he was a fit little thing but apart from a couple of short walks he ran all the 30 mins with me, up and down the same hills I’ve been training on the past months and I’m incredibly proud of him. It was odd running alongside someone as I never thought I’d be able to hold a conversation but it was fine and I found myself acting like a coach and giving him the tips I’d heard from Jo during the programme 😀
Another 4.19km in the 30 mins too which I’m really happy with. I really must find a flat route to see how long I can go for without hills 😆

Thanks Mike! He wasn’t even in ‘proper’ running kit and I just kept telling him how well he was doing. He was interested in doing the programme himself once but after that performance today he doesn’t need to 😄
Ah......this is exactly what my own almost 9 year old has been bugging me for...!!! "Mummy, can I come running with you?" is a question he's been asking me the last few weeks. I've avoided it so far as I'm worried about me not being able to keep up with him and his nonstop chatter......he is a live wire at any given point in time!!
Your experience has given me hope that I could attempt this.......and not feel like a total failure....lol!!!😂😂😂
The amount of energy he has....l get tired by just looking at him......😉
Let him go with you! I bet he’ll stop chatting so much after a few minutes 😆
I had to slow my boy down at first and explain to him about pacing - once I said if he wanted to run ahead that was fine to wait for me just up ahead but he wasn’t allowed to stop running and had to go round in a little circle (because I wanted him to go as long as poss without stopping). But he chose to run with me and it worked really well!
