There's probably many more than that. Too hot, too cold, too achy, too early too late... My favourite: can't be arsed.
So the thing is, how can you cut down on those feeble excuses, and, in the words of Nike, just do it?
Here's a few suggestions:
1. Have shorts / shirt shoes at the ready, hung up behind bathroom door in my case.
2. Run from the door. If the car is involved, there's a whole set of reasons not to go.
3. Ignore the weather. You will need a shower whatever, so just get out there.
4. Record runs using any number of apps. My favourite is Runmeter. Very motivating.
5. Ignore any feelings of stiffness or tiredness. I bet you will have forgotten about them by the time you get going.
6. Take some music / radio on the smartphone. I listened to Yes Minister this morning. Brilliant.
7. It must be great to have a running buddy, but I couldn't face hanging around for someone else to be ready.
There must be more - feel free to add.
