What a leap! I really wasn't sure i could do it. I started my run thinking i would do as far as possible and would not be dissappointed in me.
First 5 mins i thought they were 10. So i paced myself and tried to think of other things. At 15 mins i was getting a bit tired. My real struggle were the last 2 minutes as i hit a bit of an uphill unluckily. But...
I DID IT!!! when i heard laura say "that's it" i could not believe it! And i felt so happy and proud all through the evening! What a milestone!
From smoking and not exercising for years? If I can do it, EVERYONE can!
πPs. A good tip i read somewhere: find the furthest point to focus on and imagine a ribbon at your chest pulling you to it. It really helps!

Well done you, congratulations. It's such a huge milestone, isn't it! I've just managed to do it today and I'm on such a high! Good luck for week 6, we can do this!
Well done great achievement. Good luck for Week 6. I have W5R3 on Thursday after bottling it this morning and repeating run 2. Annoyed with myself for not trying the 20 mins! π
You are now officially my inspiration. I'm scheduled to do W5R3 on Saturday and I'm concerned. Reading your post makes me think it is achievable. Well done you and not long now until the end of the program and the beginning of a new improved healthier us. Congratulations.
Your comment REALLY made me smile. Thank you for this!
I believe this whole thing is such a HUGE accomplishment that even if a run is "bad" (what does that mean??) The pros are humungus anyway.
So go out and see how far you can do it. If you manage it all hurray (till the next one!). If you can't, be nice! To yourself. We have come SO FAR it's ridiculous!!!
I absolutely loved w5r3! Felt like a proper rocky moment for the last 60 seconds too! Week 6 was another story! Seemed much harder but now onto week 9 and absolutely loving running!
I found it much easier when it was all running and no walking. My brain wasn't counting down until the next walking section! But well done for continuing, be warned thou, it becomes very addictiveπ
Yes you are probably right. I think when i reach the point of being able to just put on my choice of music or podcast and just running on, it will be 'easier'. I too keep waiting for the walking segments and it's a burden mentally.
