Week 6 run 1

That was hard work today! It felt like a big kick in the face after my 20 min run last week. However, I did it and now to keep pushing forward! Did manage to get more mileage today so must be doing something right! I can, I will and I must! That's my motto!

You can and you will but there’s no hurry and no need to push at all, so go slowly and enjoy the process 😃👍🏃‍♀️

... and you did! Good run, strong mind digging in for the challenge. I love it!

Can I ask did it feel a bit odd going back to an interval run after wk 5 20 min block run? In starting wk6 on Tuesday and my usual over thinking is creating issues all of its own before I even set out.

It does feel very odd but don't overthink it. You've managed the rest, including a 20 min straight run. You're king of the hill! 💪👍

Just keep it steady and you'll be just fine 😉

Yes it was odd and I had read on here that it's a toughy but in hindsight I wish I hadn't looked!! I was already intimidated before I ran. Thankfully the middle 8 helped me know that i can do it. The last 5 seemed to fly after the first few mins. Just go easy x

Don't stress. Follow the routine, it's not beyond you. I found the 3 minute walk after the 8 minute run very welcome.

It is a little bugger after the joy of w5 r3 but you didn't let it best you. Keep it up, you're doing great 👍💪😁

Yep it’s pretty usual for people to find the first two runs in week 6 more of a challenge than expected. Looking ahead isn’t what made it harder- it seems to be harder still if you don’t! I think the reason is that people look at the individual runs instead of the total workout.

Like everything else in the programme though those runs are there for a reason, preparing you to step up to 25 minutes at the end of the week.

That's a great comment! Didn't think of it in that way! Still did 18mins 👍

I found that too. With great highs come the lows. It's perfectly normal. Pushing through is key to improving not only your physical barriers, bit the mental ones too. It's all good training. Well done!

I felt the same so used this week to build on a bit more speed so I felt like I was still progressing!
