Another 25 min run🏃♂️......just one more to go for this week.....managed it ok, felt pretty good afterwards....split times on the km that I run on fully are coming down. Going to have to do 6 min kms if I’m going to run 5km in 30mins.....I’m a way off yet but it’s a good target to have......is it achievable? Has anyone actually managed 5km in 30 mins from being an overweight beginner??
Also is doing 3 runs at 25 mins in this week so things are consolidated? You hear a lot about ‘consolidating ‘ runs.....how do you know when to push on a bit faster/longer etc? (after graduation of course).
Don't worry about 5k in 30 minutes - it’s not realistic for most of us after only 9 weeks - we're still beginners after all. The consolidation runs are fun as you can do what you like - maybe do a 5k, which takes me about 40 minutes, or a faster 3k. But concentrate on the distance rather than chasing times. You'll find that on a good day you'll naturally go faster anyhow, and on a not so good day when it’s hot and humid your body will slow you down.
30 minutes is all it takes.. slow and steady, injury free and having a great time
Just get to Graduation and lots of things follow... consolidation is different routes different distance and later different speeds... this running is about different disciplines and C25K is just the beginning.
I did 5K in 9 weeks when I graduated in 2015 because I thought you had to!!! Duh... Have done it rarely since...it does not matter a jot!
You are doing wonderfully! Be really proud of yourself...
