Compression leggings

Hi all. I'm looking to get some compression leggings as was told by an amazing runner that they would be great for my calves. I have found some by 2xu which have great reviews but I was wondering if anyone else uses this brand or if there are any other good compression leggings out there that are tried and tested? Thanks in advance!

I don’t use them I have some, and socks, but don’t use them. Not sure why you’d need them for C25k

I had a shin splint so got them but I used the socks post run, for a while. I had a calf sleeve too The tights kept coming down so I binned those off 😃

C25k is slow jogs with lots of walking intervals to start with so you’ll be fine

I'm on week 8 run 2 and I have been getting calf pain off and on. I'm actually signed up for a half marathon next year too. Was told it would be help for my muscles.

By all means get some and try them I think the idea is that they lend support but I don’t think it’s proven It’s something you can try if you have an issue. I don’t think generally that they’re a necessity

Have a read up about them to get the detail 👍

I have read up on them, sounds good but I was wondering if anyone had tried them and in particular the brand I mentioned

I’ve just bought some calf skins as I get pain sometimes too, will report back if they’re any good 👍🏻

Well W4R2 completed with the skins, feels like they helped, time will tell.

Have you had a gait analysis?

I think the pain is the calf muscles under strain. I found that my calves are weaker than my other leg muscles. This resulted in a tear to my left calf on my graduation run a couple of weeks ago. I’m now focusing on longer and slower recovery runs during the week with a park run at a gentle pace at the weekend.

Listen to your body and keep it slow - push it too hard and you might injure yourself. Bear in mind you’re new to running and give your legs time to adapt by focusing on doing distance rather than speed.🏃‍♀️

I'm not entirely new to running but definitely new to distance! I've always been a sprinter and do alot of boxing. It's always my right calf and I'm wondering if it's damage from when I used to dance. Thought these may help a Bit

You’re a bit like me then (I do CrossFit)- finding the distance running is making your calves ache? I found tight half hose socks help with the swelling I get around the calf & ankle, making it more comfortable. But I think the underlying issue maybe is the calf muscle gets used more in distance running? That’s what it feels like to me.

Yes this is what I'm thinking. Lots of extra use now I'm doing longer runs. Carried on this morning and ran through the cool down walk. 35 mins in total and then walked but now my calfs are telling me off! Ordered the leggings so hopefully they help.
