Week 9 Run1 and I feel amazing.

Hello lovely people,

earlier today I completed my first 30 minutes and run and I feel so amazing. I've always read your posts in this forum and they have given me so much motivation over the past 9 weeks, somehow I never posted anything myself until today.

I never thought I could get this far, 9 weeks ago I was going on my runs taking the weirdest routes as I was so paranoid and insecure of people seeing me running. Fast forward to today and I feel amazing, C25K has given me so much more confidence and I never thought I would stick to it. Basically every run I had a little voice in my head saying I couldn't do it, but I got this far.

I got to admit that being nearly done scares me, I don't know if I'll keep having the motivation to go on my runs and stick to it. Also I love running outside and I am afraid I won't be able to do it as the weather gets colder. Any advice?

I agree, well done, pity you did not post anything before telling us all about your C25K journey, never mind, as for running outside when the weather gets colder, there are plenty of running clothes that runners wear during colder weather, perhaps you just like to run when it's fair and not too hot or too cold, running is a good exercise in any weather.

Hi I did my Week 9 Run 1 today too and in all honesty found it easier to run in the rain than I have the heat. Like you I have the voice in my head looking for any excuse to give in but I’m not giving in. At week 5 someone pointed out they could see through my Top which embarrassed me so much I invested in some proper running clothes. There are lots of different outfits suited to running in different weather (it’s a mind field ) I know I intend to keep running now both to loose weight but also because it destresses me. I don’t care what other people think anymore I just stick my headphones in and go

Well done and remember how good it feels to run ...that will motivate you whatever the weather. As a new (but old) runner I am looking forward to a crisp frosty morning- but let us all enjoy the summer first.

Sounds like you’re doing great! C25K prepares us for every stage and for me week 9 was a dream - no self-doubt, just enjoyment as everything fell into place. Well done and enjoy your graduation week!
