Week 9 Run 3 - I did it and I am amazing, apparently!

Yes, what a fab day! Well, the weather was pretty dreary, but it wasn’t cold, and my mood certainly wasn’t dreary once I completed the run! Feel just SO proud of myself, plus invigorated and motivated. Who would have thought I could have reached this stage when I started 9 weeks ago? Going up to London for 5 days over New Year, so I have planned a couple of fun runs along the river to celebrate. Planning on running 5k 3 times a week for the next month or so then seeing how I feel about bridging to 10k. I actually liked having the program to stick to, so I hope I don’t miss it too much in the interim!

In the meantime, I wish everyone a very happy 2020 and lots of fun running. For all those who have just started C25K, I wish you a very happy journey on what I hope will turn out to be as fulfilling an experience as I found it; believe me, if I can do it (and come out loving running, having last run 35 years ago, and then only a mile) then there is hope for us all!

Wow, well done for completing c25k 😊🎉

I started yesterday, I live in hopes of getting to the end, one day at a time, one run at a time 😁

Wish me luck 🤞

Good luck! And do keep posting on here about how you are getting on! I gained a lot of strength and conviction from reading the posts, and also from the kind words, hints and tips that others gave to me. You can do it, really! And it will feel SO, SO good when you do, because you are doing it for yourself! One of my top tips (if you are nosey like me) is just set off and make up the route as you go. If you see a turning that you have never been down before, give it a go. Then if it is a cul-de-sac (or a drive!) then you can always turn round. But you might discover something new in the process. And look up at the trees, and sky, and over hedges. Unless you are on a treadmill, of course. That wouldn’t be for me, but horses for courses. It’s all about discovering your mojo in the process. Or at least it was for me.

Thank you 😊

I am definitely of the 'inquisitive' nature, or really nosey according to my daughter 😂 I have been on the same route that I use to walk the dog so far but I am sure I will broaden my horizons. Thanks for the tips ☺️

Congratulations! I also started on the Bridge to 10k in order to give myself some structure and a plan to follow.

If you like the audio coaching while you run there are plenty of apps for that, I moved on to Nike Run Club but there’s also Run, Zombies!, Vi Trainer and others.

Thank you! That helps; I am looking around for apps at the moment. I have a dreaded Huawei phone (dropped iPhone down the loo by accident - eek!) and actually their running app in the fitness bit seems rather good, I must say. Better than the rest of the phone, anyway...
