I must be dreaming......it has to be a dream!!! How else can it be that a complete, total, utter non-runner like me just went out and ran for 25 minutes without stopping????!!!! I couldn't run for 1 min straight when I started C25K......without huffing and puffing and feeling like I was going to die........and here I am now, home after a nice cool 6:30am run, feeling upbeat and ready to tackle the rest of the day with no major achy bits.
It's a miracle.....!!!!
Laura even announced that I am officially a runner now πββοΈπββοΈπββοΈ
The low-down of today's run was a tough 5 mins, where those gremlins were all over the place telling me that I should give up as my legs loosened up. After that, I just ran......and it seemed all very natural - I know this because I went into "auto-pilot" and I began going through to-do lists in my head....and I only do this when I'm doing something that I'm not worried about....usually happens when I'm baking, gardening, etc.....
I cannot get my head round the fact that my body and subconscious have accepted that running is just another activity that I enjoy.....because I really do!!!ππ Just need to bring my brain up to speed now!!!!π π π
Roll on Week 7 - can't wait to meet you!!!π

Thatβs fantastic! Well done! Youβve got this now. The 28 and 30 minute runs arenβt much different to 25; just slow down and slow down again as the runs get longer. Massive congratulations ππ½
Thank you!!! I feel over the moon.....I was anxious about how I'd find this week after reading through a few posts about how Week6 really throws you a curveball.
But I'm chuffed that I've come out the other side stronger and positive about what lies ahead.
That's my girl, never doubted you for a second, do you use a fitness tracker at all to measure your pace and distance, now that you are on continuous runs5, they can help you to control your pace etc.
Your voice was loud and clear in my head telling me to keep going when I felt like giving up in those first 5 mins......π
I have been thinking about a fitness tracker.....for now I just use the strava app but haven't found it reliable as I got an error for the last 2 runs saying it couldn't upload my activity.
I'm thinking of borrowing my husband's fitbit that he used until the novelty wore off and then gave to my daughter, where it is currently gathering dust ...lol!!!
You can begin to understand why my family find my running addiction so amusing....lol!!!!π π π€£π€£ππ
I'd be very happy to get some pearls of wisdom in this space.....π
I use strava and seems to work fine for me, but have also used mapmyrun and Runkeeper, also just got a Garmin watch so linked that to Strava, which in turn is linked to my Fitbit lol, personally I would persevere with Strava, the only issues I have had is it failing to sync when I have been outside and not on WiFi, but it has synced once I got home and connected back to WiFi, there are a lot of us on Strava who follow each other etc. Come and join us π
I'm going to revisit my Strava settings and try and figure out why I seem to be having issues.
I did use MapmyRun in week 2 and 3 but found lots of US based posts popping up on my feed.....i got really worried that I might get Trump's post updates on his running.....so quickly uninstalled it!!!!π€£π€£π€£π€£π€£π
Well done you! Those first few minutes of settling in can be killer on your mind.... Was a good ten minutes this morning that I kept thinking I was going to have to quit. Just keep telling those gremlins to shut up π enjoy week 7. No more intervals!! Woooooooooohoooooo
Ah my dear Flara Croft....thank you!!! Your butterfly metamorphosis has definitely inspired me.......keep leading the way....you're are truly rocking it!!!πππ
The buzz is what has stayed with me so far throughout.....I need those happy endorphins - they really do a great job of banishing those blues and making you feel positive that you've doing something to improve your fitness, both physically and mentally.
If I can get this far.....anybody can!!!
Keep going.....you too can totally smash this!!!πͺπͺπͺπππ
Well done you!! Your post makes me feel very positive! Had a great w2r1 today and I felt so relaxed and happy (49 yrs never run overweight unfit). Have to keep pinching myself. Well done and thanks for sharing xx
Thank you!!! Trust the programme, stay positive, keep a steady pace, drink lots of water......and rest will slowly all fall into place! Great to hear that you are enjoying Week 2.......keep it up!!! πππ
In fact don't be put off by the shorter runs.....apparently W6R1 is a bit of an oddball.
I simply considered it as a bonus to do shorter runs and felt like I was finally getting the whole "I love running" malarkey........so, just keep a steady pace and you will be just fine!!
