Guess who followed the aroma of brasso to graduation

Cant wait to tell you all, my family of VRBS, I did itπŸ˜…πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸ… πŸ™Œ just finished my graduation run , feel on top of the world despite no sleep last night due to small grandchildren sleeping over😳

I ran into the light following the trail of brasso aroma kindly laid by Oldfloss who’s furiously polishing medals for everyone graduating today🀣

anyone reading this post who is thinking of doing couch25k but doubting their ability please please try it - honestly if I can do it you can. I am 58, never ran or really exercised since school other than dog walking and chasing after kids then grandkids - and now can run for 30 minutes non stop , unbelievable!!

thankyou to everyone on this lovely forum who has advised and encouraged me, your support and the structure of the plan was brilliant

ok I didnt reach 5k most I ran was 3.8k but that is amazing for me at my age and current level of fittness

I now will be looking for what to do next as defo need structure for motivation

wahey - I am a Graduate , thats priceless saying that I love itπŸ˜πŸ˜ŠπŸ‘

Yes, the support and encouragement along with the programme is amazing x

(I hope so, I might be a bit longer than I’d have liked (I’m usually too hard on myself!) as I’m thinking of taking a few days break and picking it up again Thu/Fri) but heh ho not the end of the world x)

That's a great achievement and, I suspect based on a sample of 2 (me being the other) that 3.8ish isn't an all too uncommon graduation distance.

Anyway, go and celebrate your achievement and don't inhale too much brasso...

Many congratulations! It's an amazing achievement, but the biggest prize is the investment in your health and fitness.

People can struggle a bit for motivation after graduation. What worked for me was setting some goals and then putting a plan in place to get there (I do so love a spreadsheet!).

Good luck with whatever you decide to do, and make sure you keep us updated on your progress! :)

notquiteretired profile image

cheers for that Pianism and thanks for your supportπŸ™Œ

I most certainly have noticed a change for the better in my health and hope this continues as I follow up to the couch25k. I will have to read up and set myself some goals as I need structure or risk falling off wagon. Think the forums help with this too so will be continuing to follow these 😊
