Last run of week 9 thought I’d be more elated but bit of an anti climax! Just planning how to continue- need to increase my endurance to 5k as I am doing 4K in 30mins.

Congratulations Joady for completing your last run of week 9, you realise that is your graduation run, well done, you now can apply for your badge. Don't worry about completing that 4k in 30 minutes, only 10% of people here on C25K can manage to run 5k in 30 minutes, you should be elated of your achievement but I understand your feelings of anti-climax, it's quite a journey from week 1 to week 9, perhaps tomorrow you will be elated looking back on the last 9 weeks.

Wow!!! Huge congratulations and well done you... You should be really proud... maybe it is just because it is the end of this section of your running:) I am thrilled for you!

Well, after the party... consolidation is the name of the game... plenty of 30 minutes.... and different routes... a couple of weeks maybe... then maybe take a peek at the What's next post...then if you want to build up your stamina and strength.. up your rest day exercise a tad.. and take a peek at the C25K+ podcasts... They are challenging but fun and useful for continuing with our running:)

Congratulations on your graduation. Well done, you stuck with it through the hear and you got it done!

Sorry to hear that you feel it a bit of an anticlimax. Hopefully you will find a way to reward yourself on your accomplishment, whether it's a big glass of good red wine, a bar of chocolate, new pair of runners or even all 3.

Good luck and keep on running.

Way to go... you did it. “Couch to 30 minutes running” wouldn’t be such a catchy title, but that’s what this place is all about. The 5k is the “average person” after the programme... but we don’t start average, we start on the couch! Congratulations on changing your fitness and opening up a healthy future for yourself and your loved ones.

There are several ways to get to a 30 minute 5k... so find out what suits you best... bridge to 10k will build stamina and give you a bigger tank. The already mentioned 5k+ will do the job a slightly different way. There are running plans out there, and apps that give you a personalised adaptive plan. Find what works for you, and enjoy your running.

Yes you’re right set myself high standards, should consider I am 8 months off 60 and never run in my life before! 5k is the next target!

You’ll get that target, and I know this because C25K is a harder thing to do, and you’ve done that.

Huge congratulations Joady. I recognise this as felt a tiny bit the same but actually my first consolidation run as a graduate was what did it for me in terms of elation - then it felt properly real!! And nearly a year on, I am still loving heading out for a run. I bought myself a fitbit as a treat and I really like it (didn't feel proper runner-ish enough for a Garmin, still don't) Hope you find the special treat that does it for you! And get your badge - it may be a slow burn... happy running journey... xxx

You really understand where I am, it’s getting the Fitbit in February that got me doing more and started running. Also not ready for a garmin, maybe it’s new shoes!

I just bought two pairs last week, it was a tip about understanding when they were wearing out... I wrote a post on it and got great advice!! Best of luck with treat hunting... 😁
