Post Grad run with a difference!

Well tonight i thought i would see if my knee was fit to run again(not ran for nearly a week due to me being on the IC).

So i started with the intention of doing a 15 minute run and a walk back in case of any issues.

So did the 15 minutes and it was fine so i walked for about 4 minutes to make sure no after effects, it was fine, so started to run again this time for over 20 minutes and by the end of it i had done my first 5k run all be it having a 4 minute break from running (feels a bit of a cheat because of the 4 minute rest) but in my defence i did pause my Runkeeper app whilst i was walking so i did actually run for the quoted time and distance.

I also got another 3 PBs today Distance, time running! and pace i did my 5k at an average  pace of 7.34 KMH and ran for 38 minutes.

It certainly wasn't a 'cheat'!

Very sensible idea to stop and gauge your knee's feedback. Glad it felt OK and well done for continuing :)

3 pb's is great!

Hitting 3 PBs doesn't sound like a "cheat"...

Well done and welcome back from the IC.

Great stuff, well done ,glad your knee is better

Very impressive! And don't worry about "cheating", it just shows you have high standards about how your run should be.

I'm going to follow your lead and try my knee out today (my parkrun was cancelled yesterday because of a "fun event" on the park... in Preston, really?!! Now there's an oxymoron if ever I heard one), it's a good idea to add a couple of checks in to see how my crocked knee feels too.

Enjoy the rest of the BH weekend :o)

Walks during runs are not to be sniffed at.  They can make such a difference.  It certainly was true in your case.  Congratulations on your PB's ☺

I hope you'll soon be fully fit and firing on all cylinders.  Take care ☺
