As a follow on from my previous post which you can check out here,

healthunlocked.com/couchto5...

I have now completed my re run of C25k Week 1

It did feel strange to be running again but each 1 minute run is getting me slowly back to where I was and will be again .

It's the same time of year as when I first started 3 years ago and as I have been doing these 1 minute jogs I have been thinking about some of the longer runs I have previously done.

10k was always my favourite distance and I would sometimes run a couple a week but more often every couple of weeks .

I loved the long slow runs, my longest being 15k (9 miles) didn't quite make that 10 mile badge as I was rudely interrupted by one or two setbacks each time I got there !

For all those just starting, stick at it ,

Follow the program to the letter , build yourself a strong aerobic base by running at a conversational pace , then you will find one day those longer runs where you feel you could just go on forever will be available to you .

And believe me, they are worth waiting for !

I'm not going to post every run along the way .

Maybe one for each week .

For now, looking forward to week 2 !

It's actually quite nice to do it again ๐Ÿ˜Although I would have preferred it if it wasn't for this reason ๐Ÿคฃ

Excellent to not worry about the pace - as someone told me recently. ๐Ÿ˜Ž These one minute runs seem like nothing at all, but as you so rightly said - they are anything but trivial. I now realise just how important they are - for fitness and for mindset adjustment. To come back from where you've been and to rebuild from scratch takes real guts and dedication. I think it's just brilliant. Good luck!

I'm actually enjoying going through it again ๐Ÿ˜Š

Fantastic well done! I don't push myself at all as I know how debilitating an injury can be. It's great you are re-starting, great stuff!

Thanks jools , just come back from a 1 hour walk as well so that's more than 10000 steps for the day ....I won't feel guilty now watching the Monaca F1 this afternoon ๐Ÿคฃ

Fantastic! I used to have a mini celebration at the end of every week. So glad to see you back and having such a good experience with the programme again. Iโ€™m also missing the longer runs. Theyโ€™re still not quite happening for me either. Weโ€™ll get there! 10k is my favourite distance too and the next time weโ€™re there will feel extra sweet after all the challenges. โค๏ธ

It's actually nice to be doing it again , and thinking about it I maybe should have done it again after some of my previous niggles instead of plodding on and not really getting anywhere. But yes, I'm looking forward to be doing 10k's and plus again ๐Ÿคž

That's brilliant. It's nice to think about your longer runs, it means you've still got the bug!

Oh yes, the bug is still there , perhaps it was dormant for a while but it's now re surfaced ๐Ÿ˜

So good to see you back on track...enjoying the familiarity and in such beautiful weather and location too.

Those longer runs seem a long way off.. the 10K is my favourite and the longer relaxed Sunday Runday...I am missing them too.

You will be back thee my friend, as will I, ( hopefully )...lucky for us that all the runs are patient.. and so must we be.

Well done you xxx

Yes it is rather nice having that familiarity ๐Ÿ˜And although the longer runs are some way off I don't doubt we will both get them back ๐Ÿ˜ x

Congratulations Ian on completing week 1 of C25K, I am sure you enjoyed those 3 days of 8/1 minute runs, when I was doing C25K I only started to report my running once a week after completing week 4, onwards and upwards to week 2. ๐Ÿ˜Š ๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿพ ๐Ÿ‘

Well done. I just about remember running when I could just carry on and not clock watch or listen out for someone saying I can stop running. Can't wait to get back there and you've reminded me why I've taken it up.again.
