Well done Hotheels! Brilliant that you had more in the tank. Youβll love R3! The feeling of achievement is immense. Just embrace your inner snail and you WILL smash it!
Good luck! πββοΈπππββοΈππ
The heat obviously takes everything up a notch.....so don't get too hung up about it.
Remember this is your unique, personal journey and most of the battle is with the gremlins in your head. The programme prepares you for each run.....so your body is ready.
However, if you do feel strongly about 30 secs......then you can do W6R2 again......but equally, you'll be fine to tackle W6R3 too.
The thunderstorms have cooled things down a bit, so fingers crossed all goes well for you!!!
Keep at it...slow and steady. You've got this!!ππͺπ
Thank you!!! W6R3 tomorrow......gulp!!! I find it easiest to wake up and head for a run without giving my brain too much time to think and pander to those pesky gremlins.....Monday crazy o'clock just round the corner π
Yes, I am looking forward to the easy-peasy runs next week!!
Iβll keep you posted!!
Only just seen this, sorry! Well done on W6R2, I would say the first 10 minutes of any run can be tough, they seem to call it the toxic 10... and for good reason! Once you are past that, which is more of a mental one I reckon, itβs just a case of putting into practice what you already know about βslow and steadyβ and pacing yourself.
W6R3 is the same deal, you already have W5R3 under your belt, which is amazing, and if you can run for 20 minutes, you can probably do 25... before you know it youβll be doing a half marathon!!
Just to encourage you, I think youβve done the hardest part of the programme, by learning to pace yourself for the longer runs. By applying that to my
Own running Iβve now managed 10k twice, and a year ago I couldnβt run for a minute. Go for it, you can do it!!!
Oh sorry, I was checking from my phone, and I don't think it had synced your latest post. Well done then, 25 minutes today, that's nearly 28 minutes, and that's nearly 30 minutes, which will be close enough on 5k, and that's practically a half marathon, and if you can do a half marathon, well...
In all seriousness though, I know what it takes to do C25K, and what you've achieved so far is just amazing. You should be rightly very proud of yourself. You'll nail the last 3 weeks I know, and we'll be cheering you on as you take your rightful place at the podium. Are you thinking about the future yet, post C25K? You don't have to, but I bet you've had some thoughts
Hidden ....no no no no no no!!!! Stop right there, please!!! π
I'm a project manager / business analyst by profession.......my job and my instinctive nature makes sure I keep things structured, follow a plan, have contingency back- up plans, track progress and keep thinking one step ahead.
With C25k, I've simply refused to do this because I don't want to get overwhelmed.....my main goal is to get fit. Both my mental fitness and physical fitness have improved these last 6 weeks....and this is what spurs me on. I've felt better than I've felt in years since starting C25k.....and the support I've got is truly amazing. I cannot put into words how much of a lifeline the programme has been for me so far.
So - for now, all I've thought about is one run at a time....haven't thought about Week 8 or beyond.....just going to focus on getting through W7R1 π
I get what you're trying to tell me though.....as soon as I know myself, I'll let u know about plan beyond C25k π
OK No rush, seriously. I guess what I'm trying to say is that you have options now, you CAN do it, and you will graduate, and hold your head up high, I just know it.
Oh - and for me anyway, the more I run, the more I feel the mental health benefits. I've spent my life with well-meaning people laughing and saying that I'm not really the athletic or sporty type and that I'd never be a runner or anything like that. That just makes me feel brilliant now, as guess what? I am a runner! And so are you
Oh that so reminds me of a Bob Monkhouse quote: "When I said I was going to become a comedian, they all laughed. Well, they're not laughing now, are they?"
Yes.....that's exactly it....you totally get it!!! π
Thank you for your wise words.....im soaking up everything everyone is telling me.......as it's all good advice based on their own running journey π
Yaaay Hotheels! Fantastic! Well done. I remember feeling the same, thinking somethings going to show up to put me back in my box, but Iβm glad to say it never did!! You
really are just brilliant and a great runner!! β€οΈ
