5x50 part one

It was apt that I did my day 50 on the last day of the holiday in Sydney, as the reason I wanted to do 100 days was to start early enough to get fit for the holiday and also to do it whilst on holiday.

I found day 49 really tough, and my knees were really struggling at the end of the swim. The tennis was fun (day 50) and today I arrived back in the UK and went on the treadmill because, guess what? It's cold and raining! Still, it was probably the best choice with my dodgy knees. So the last days look like this:

Day 45 ran 5k walked 8k

Day 46 walk 5k

Day 47 30 minute swim/4k walk

Day 48 Ran 5k walked 3k

Day 49 30 minute swim

Day 50 30 minute tennis

I am rather daunted about doing another 50 if I am honest. I will have to really listen to my body and not run for a while until the knees feel better. Also I will have to get inspired again; at the moment I have post holiday blues! Continuing will be good for the waist line though because a lot of yummy food has been consumed whilst away!

As we can all see each others activities and thanks to Malcy can get graphs(brilliant!)I will not feel the need to blog now, unless I need support for some reason! Good luck to you all in the team. I think we've made a great start.

So thanks for all your comments and help on the way, and wish me luck with the next 50!

Truly amazing! I keep wondering what possessed me to commit to 50 days in a row and you are heading straight for 100! :-) Very well done! Most people would of neglected the challenge during a holiday, you incorporated it into your time away. Looking forward to reading how your next 50 goes!!!! :-) Gayle

Can't believe it's your last day in Sydney already. Hope you had an amazing time there. Did you run over the bridge?

Safe journey home.

Well done, and Sydney is beautiful. The cold here is still unbelievable for this time off year.

I walked 5K and I was going to run tonight but the cold put me off, I did a yoga DVD instead of the run.

Do you not fancy a rest now you are on Day 51?

I could see my breath when I got off the plane this morning at 5.30 a.m. It was simply grey and raining and horrible, which is why I chose the treadmil today! I did it pretty much as soon as I got in, which is a good job, because now I feel dizzy with jetlag. Day 51 done, so it's onwards and upwards.

Thanks! I guess I am quite lucky that I can cycle to work as it does clock up the kms. However, I am trying to push myself to get out for lunchtime walks as i used to do that a lot and have fallen out of the habit. It seems I end up sat at my desk nosing on here instead! :)

Maybe you can let yourself 'just' do 5k a day, instead of all those extra bits! A few days of yoga relaxation might be just the thing for blues and jetlag! :)

It's been lovely following your progress through the 50 days - thanks for sharing it with us, and inspiring us all. :)
