The second 8 minutes of that were very hard to start with, although got better towards the end. I’m seriously worried about the prospect of running for 20mins non stop on Saturday morning though, it seems like such a leap!

W5 R2 completes - starting to worry about R3!

I have R3 to do this evening and I'm quite nervous about it too. It seems like such a huge jump up!
It is a huge jump! I completely slowed right down and managed to do it okay though! Just try not to force yourself to run at the same pace as you were the 8 minute run and you will be fine! X

Don’t worry about R3. It won’t be as hard as you think. The run/walk thing you’ve been doing has done all the ground work and you are ready! It is the watershed run, once you’re on the other side of it, you will feel like a runner. Good luck, take it slowly, as I’ve read on this site before, embrace your inner snail and you’ll be fine. 🥇

Just trust the plan and believe in yourself. Each run follows on, building up and reinforcing skills that we are gaining.
Just one slow and steady step after the other... you can do it.. and you will

Thank you all! I will report back on Saturday!x
Hi. I too was very nervous about W5r3 but it was fine - just go as slowly as you like and don’t forget to breathe! The feeling at the end is amazing.
I’m doing it this morning. I’m currently laying in bed thinking about the run and trying to motivate myself. I am determined to do it if my body allows! Good luck.
Good luck! Let me know how you get on! I have been swimming on alternate days until now but giving it a miss today to preserve all my energy for tomorrow morning!!

I have Week 5 Run 3 to do on Sunday morning. Before each 'jump' I've felt like I can't do it, it's too big an increase, but have been fine, so I keep telling myself this run will be no different... But it feels a much bigger jump when you're approaching it!
Fingers crossed for all of us who are approaching this pivotal run - we can do it!
Totally feels like a bigger jump than any of the others - will let you know how tomorrow goes and good luck for Sunday!

I did it!! Incredibly glad it was cooler today. The first five minutes was the hardest but by 10 minutes I was enjoying it but counting down the seconds for the last minute!
